VOL. XI, NO. IV PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA 92262 JANUARY, 1972 rom Charlie

Dear Member: Well , we opened this year to a fly ing start with the usual opening cocktail party that was a jam-up bash. Everything has been going fine this year, we have had the dol drums and usual lull before the storm - before Christmas and New Year's "hitting the fan". We had trouble getting our bulle Edgar Eisenhower with friend Charlie at 'How sweet it is' Millie White and Min his last visit to the club. ette Haber with the big one. tin out last year due to the sudden death of our long-term photograph er, Bill Anderson - we just didn't know where "nothin' was". The condominiums are coming along fine and we are showing you some pictures of construction. Can't give you a sales pitch as, for some reason, it's against real estate regulations, but you can certainly see them when you come out. Con dominiums are becoming very, very popular in Palm Springs and they are springing (no pun intended) up all over. They say it's the only way to fly ·- I mean, live , in Palm Springs. Your club looks fine and running very successfully - noon-time in the Bar and Garden Room makes you think you are in Club 21 (Jack and Charlie's). We had such a good picture of Charlie, Mollie and grand son, thought I would give it the place of honor. In the not too-distant future, three more tennis courts will be built when our old-fashioned bungelows in the 20's are going to be removed. Who says tennis is not on a terri fically big upswing. Love and kisses,

Charlie

CLUB TO OFFER 20 CONDOMINIUM UNITS FOR SALE ABOUT FEBRUARY 1, 1972

The Condominium units being offered for sale by the RACQUET CLUB of PALM SPRINGS are an accommodation for the members who may desire to have room accommodations avail able to them on a more permanent basis and on different financial terms than those of the present facilities.

In considering one or more units on a purchase, the members should keep in mind that the offering is an alternative to using such accommodations at the Club on either a day to day or seasonal basis. The units are of the same general type (although of more up-to-date and higher quality) as those which the Club presently has. The usual amenities, services, and ambience of the Club make these condominiums unique.

A member may purchase one or more suites or units in combinations as desired, and thus bene fit from certain economic advantages, such as equity build-up and tax savings from deductions of interest and real estate taxes, rather than paying rent on a daily or seasonal basis.

Our units should not be compared with any other condominium or development in other parts of the Desert area. The Club is in no way trying to compete with the prices of these other de velopments due to the costs of the land and development available to, and required by the Club. Just as the Club is not competing with these developments, these developments cannot compete with the Club units. The other developments can in no way offer to the Club's mem bers a duplication of a unique Club and its amenities and ambience.
