Linda Lamone Administrator of Elections Maryland Board of Elections 151 West Street, Suite 200 Annapolis, MD 21401

Administrator Lamone,

I am writing to object to your recent decision not to reprint the ballots for the Democratic Gubernatorial primary to be held on June 26, 2018, so as to include the names of eligible candidates, Valerie Ervin for Governor and Marisol Johnson for Lieutenant Governor.

I read in and the Sun that your office has claimed that there is not adequate time to reprint the ballots. That is simply not true.

My campaign has reached to multiple commercial printers and industry experts, all of whom have assured us that three weeks is plenty of time to print the 3.5 million ballots your office anticipates will be needed.

While I understand that absentee ballots have already been distributed, there is clearly enough time to reprint the various ballot iterations before early voting begins on June 14th and certainly before election day.

How will Valerie Ervin and Marisol Johnson, or the voters of Maryland, have any faith in the outcome of this election, when all of the eligible candidates were not actually printed on the ballot?

I strongly urge you to reconsider this decision and to do so without delay. I will be happy to provide you the names and contact information for printers who can complete this work in time for early voting.

Sincerely,

Alec Ross
