“WORLD PRO WRESTLING RETURNS (NJPW)” (ENTERTAINMENT FILM)

TO BE TELEVISED ON NBCTV

The Embassy of Japan in Papua New Guinea is pleased to announce that NBCTV will be airing a television program, World Pro Wrestling Returns in collaboration with the Japan Foundation and TV Asahi Corporation.

This program is a continuation of the Television program “World Pro Wrestling” which premiered on NBCTV since July, 2016 until the last and 25th episode was aired in February this year. This sequel will also air 25 episodes.

The program features fights from popular wrestlers both in Japan and around the world through NJPW (New Japan Pro-Wrestling), a popular wrestling organization in Japan and the second largest in the world in terms of attendance and revenue. Founded by the legendary Antonio INOKI, the NJPW continues to bring exciting fights to fans all over the world featuring new generation wrestlers of today such as Hiroshi TANASHI, a.k.a “Genius of the Sun”, Kazuchika Okada a.k.a “the Rainmaker”, masked wrestler Tiger Mask among many others, as well as an array of selected international wrestlers form the U.S and Mexico.

This exciting and real entertaining 60 minutes-program will be premiering the 1st episode on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 11:00pm and continue showing weekly. A repeat of the same episode will be aired over the weekend on Sunday at 9:30am.

The continuation of this Japanese wrestling program which has a long history and great popularity among wide range of people gives a rare opportunity for Papua New Guineans to have a glimpse into the real life show. The Embassy of Japan believes that this program will give a different insight to Papua New Guineans of Japan’s popular culture, thus further promoting cultural exchanges and continuing the good relations between Japan and Papua New Guinea.
