For further details or to apply on line visit www.monaghaninstitute.ie Tel 047-84900 Aughawillan GAA Next Saturday May 12th, 20 former Aughawillan GAA players will take on the 150km journey from Castleknock to Aughawillan on their bikes, in order to fundraise for the upgrade of the playing surface of the main pitch. The 20 cyclists have been getting the miles in over the past few weeks as well as fundraising towards their target of €1,000 each. Anything over this is being donated to the Irish Cancer Society. All cyclists have sponsorship cards and donations also can be made through the Aughawillan GAA Facebook page. If you haven't done your Spring Clean, you can contribute to the cycle through a clothes collection being run by Pat Joe McNiffe. All clothes, curtains, shoes, boots, and wellies can be accepted, (however duvets and pillows are not accepted), and can be left to McNiffe's house at any time, with thanks in advance. Thank you to all who have donated this far, we appreciate any and all sponsorship that can be made to the cyclists and we ask that you support and encourage all 20 cyclists in any way possible in their preparations. Section12 (2) of the Act providesfor the exhibitionin eachcounty of the list and mapsfor that countyin a mannerprescribed by regulationsmade by the ~inis~e~"~o~" ~,~, C~l~’e anti ~he Gael’~ch~. The relevant regulations were madeunder StatutoryInstrument No. 341 of 1994, entitled NationalMonuments (Exhibition of Recordof Monuments)Regulations, 1994. [] [] Protection of Monumentsand Places included in the Record Section 12 (3) of the Act provides for the protection of monumentsand places includedin the recordstating that "Whenthe owner or occupier (not being the Commissioners)of monumentor place which has been recorded under subsection (1) this section or any personproposes to carry out, or to causeor permit the carrying out of, any work at or in relation to such monumentor ,,m place, he shaft give notice in writing of his proposalto carry out the work to the Commissionersand shaft not, except in the case of urgent necessity and with the consent of the Commissioners,commence the workfor a period of two monthsafter havinggiven the notice."
