The papers and sessions covered not just the Italian Renaissance, but the period in Europe as a whole. A memorial mass was celebrated in the I Tatti chapel in October on the 40th anniversary of the death of Bernard Berenson. Don Carlo Bazzi, parish priest of S. Martino a Mensola, and Don Timothy Verdon (VIT’87), chaplain of S. Maria del Fiore, assisted Monsignor Giuseppe Raspini in the mass. In his address, Monsignor Raspini spoke about f20 his friendship with Mr. Berenson and his attendance at Mr. Berenson’s final moments. The chapel has recently been beautifully restored in memory of Geremia and Rina Gioffredi.
