HEALTH ACT 1911 Shire of Dardanup WHEREAS under provisions of the Health Act 1911, a local authority may make or adopt by- laws, and may alter, amend or repeal any by-laws so made or so adopted, now therefore the Shire of Dardanup, being a local authority within the meaning of the Act hereby resolves: 1. Repeal, the Model By-laws described as Series "A" as reprinted pursuant to the Reprinting of Regulations Act 1954, in the Government Gazette on 17 July 1963 with modifications adopted by the Council by resolution on 15 May 1965 and published in the Government Gazette on 6 July 1965. 2. Adopt, the Model By-laws described as Series "A" as reprinted pursuant to the Reprinting of Regulations Act 1954 in the Government Gazette on 17 July 1963 and as amended from time to time with the following modifications:— 2.1 PART 1—GENERAL SANITARY PROVISIONS (a) Add in sequence in this part a new By-law 1C to read as follows:— 1C. Provision of Apparatus for the Bacteriolytic Treatment of Sewerage. (i) This by-law shall apply to all that area which is within the boundary of the Shire of Dardanup Health Authority. (ii) The owner of every house shall provide on the premises, an apparatus for the bacteriolytic treatment of sewerage and liquid wastes produced on the premises. (b) Add in sequence in this part a new By-law 28A to read as follows:— 28A. Keeping of Swine and Goats. The occupier of premises shall not keep or permit to be kept, any swine or goat within the area described in Schedule "F" of Part 1X of these by- laws. (c)By-law 30 is not adopted. Substitute a new By-law 30 to read as follows:— 30. The owner or occupier of any premises where upon there is a dead animal shall not dispose of the carcass of such animal on any premises other than on those that have been approved by the Local Authority for that pur- pose, and it shall be there disposed of in the manner described for the disposal of rubbish under the provisions of By-law No. 19. 2.2 PART 1X OFFENSIVE TRADES (a) SECTION A—GENERAL Add in sequence after Schedule "E", the following:— SCHEDULE "F" AREAS IN WHICH PIGGERIES SHALL NOT BE ESTABLISHED All that land contained within the boundaries of the townsites of Dardanup, Burekup and Eaton or within 500 metres outside of such boundaries. BUSH FIRES ACT 1954 The Municipality of the Shire of Koorda By-laws relating to the establishment, maintenance and equipment of Bush Fire Brigades. IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon it by the above mentioned Act, and of all other powers enabling it, the Council of the above mentioned municipality hereby records having resolved on 15 October 1986 to make and submit for confirmation by the Governor the following by-laws. The by-laws published in the Government Gazette of 14 March 1947 at page 433 relating to the establishment etc. of Bush Fire Brigades are hereby repealed and replaced by the follow- ing: Establishment of Brigade 1. (a) By resolution, the Council may establish, maintain and equip abush fire brigade under the provisions of the Bush Fires Act 1954 and regulations thereunder, thebrigade shall be formed in accordance with these by-laws; and a name shall be given to thebrigade. Details of the brigade and its officers shall be entered in the register of Bush FireBrigades held by the Council. (b) A bush fire brigade may be established for the whole of the Shire orfor any specified area thereof. Appointment of Officers 2. The Council shall appoint a captain, a first lieutenant, asecond lieutenant and such additional lieutenants as it shall deem necessary to act as officers of thebrigade. 3. Members of the Brigade shall elect a person to act as Secretary tothe Brigade and shall inform the Council accordingly. 4. The Council may appoint an equipment officer who shall beresponsible for the custody and maintenance in good order and condition of all equipment andappliances acquired by the Council for the purposes of the brigade. Such officer may station such equipment at a depot approved by thecaptain.

POWERS AND DUTIES OF OFFICERS 5. The powers and duties of all officers appointed under these by-laws shall be as laid down in the provisions of the Bush Fires Act 1954 and each officer so appointed shall be supplied with a copy of the Act and regulations. Membership of Brigade 6. (1) The membership of a bush fire brigade may consist of the following: (a)subscribing members; and (b)firefighting members; (2) Subscribing members shall be those persons, who being interested in forwardingthe objects of the brigade, pay an annual subscription to the funds of the brigade at thefollowing rates: (i) owner or occupier of land within the brigade area—minimum subscriptionof $6.00 (ii) other persons—minimum subscription of $3.00 (3) Fire fighting members shall be those persons, being able bodied persons over15 years who are willing to render service at any bush fire when called upon; and whosign an undertaking in the form contained in the First Schedule to these by-laws. (4) No fees or subscriptions shall be payable by firefighting members and theenrolment of persons as such members shall in every case be subject tothe approval of the Council. (5) A subscribing member shall be eligible for enrolment as a firefightingmember.

Finance 7. The expenditure incurred by the Council in the purchase of equipment paymentfor services and generally for the purpose of this Act, shall be a charge on the ordinary revenueof the Council and records of such expenditure shall be maintained in accordance withMunicipal audit requirements.

Meetings of Brigades 8. Meetings will be held as necessary.
