While sport and recreation is important to overall health, the benefits go well beyond our physical and mental state. Team sports like curling inspire young women to have the confidence to become leaders, good team players, and mentors for others. Working together to achieve results is a skill that these women will carry throughout their lives. Calgary has a rich heritage of hosting sporting events, and with our winter climate, it’s also great to see events and activities that get us up and out during the chillier months. Enjoy the competition, and I wish all the teams great success in camaraderie, victory and fun. Women curlers “rock”!
