GUANTANAMO BAY - EM1(SW) Wilbur A. Lasseter from the U.S. Naval Brig was recently selected as 2000 Sailor of the for Naval Station and Naval Base. He was also selected as Sailor of the Quarter for the fourth quarter for Naval Station and Naval Base. Lasseter will now compete for Southeast Region Sailor of the Year in Jacksonville the week of Feb. 11. GUANTANAMO BAY - On Jan. 26, the GTMO Cuban-American Friendship Day will start with a breakfast and dedication at the U.S. Naval Hospital galley at 7 a.m. Afreedom relay run from the Northeast Gate to Phillips Park will follow at 9 a.m. A lunch buffet will then be held at Phillips Park from I1 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the menu in- cludes roast pork, chicken fricassee, cassava with garlic sauce, tamales, rice and beans, corn, rolls and butter, dessert and tea. At 1 p.m., an official ceremony will be held at Phillips Park in honor of Cuban-American Friendship Day. Music and dancing will follow at 2 p.m. Former Base Coin- mander VADM J. H. Fetterman will be the guest speaker at the event and music will be provided by Danny Rojo and his band and DJ Sensation. Tickets to the lunch buffet are $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under.
