Brief Description

What does the opportunity A lovely opportunity to volunteer in a very friendly and involve? creative school. We will be working with the Year 3. Business Supporters will predominantly work with one group of 5-6 children throughout they day. They will talk to them about their job, who it helps but most importantly how it has allowed them to achieve things like buying a house, a car, going on holiday or maintaining a hobby.

The children will also take part in a project where they will write to businesses in the community to ask them to sponsor a school award. The business supporter, supported by teacher, will help them to think about what they should include in their proposal to local businesses to persuade them to sponsor the award.

We will also be emphasising the link between the importance of attendance and school and work and what the consequences are of not turning up to work!

What will the volunteer do? An EBP facilitator will lead the event and instruct the children. Teachers and teaching staff will be supporting the children every step of the way. Volunteers will sit with their group of children and talk to them about their job and what they have achieved with it, talk to them and support them with their projects.

What skills are required? No particular skills are required other than a willingness to talk to the children and help them do the best they can with their activities.

Training required? No training is needed. All activities will be easy and explained as we go along.
