The afternoon ceremony celebrated the success achieved by pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9 and the evening ceremony celebrated that achieved by pupils in the upper school nnd members of the Community Association. Mr Fairclough, Headteacher of Brownhills West JMI School addressed the afternoon gathering and spoke of chnnges in education. Mr John Tomlinson, European Member of Parliament for Brownhills East spoke in the evening and stressed the need for youngsters to become more european conscious. The Headteacher, Mr Allan Jarrett, welcomed guests to both ceremonies including the Mayor and Mayoress of Wnlsall, Counsellor and Mrs Sears ilnd the Director of Education, Mr Mike Quinn. In his address, Mr Jarrett lightlighted the excellent examination results achieved at all levels by stu dents at the school and the large number of pupils entering higher educa tion in Universities across the country. Mr Jarrell made a special mention of Julia Richards who was tragically killed just after her GCSE examination last summer. Julia achieved 4 grade" A" passes and 5 gmde "B" passes.
