Europe FIBA Competition System: 2017-2021 Cycle

• Over a four-year cycle (2017-2021), national teams will 2017 play regular home and away games to qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 and FIBA EuroBasket 2021 is the start • 32 teams in Europe will play the FIBA Basketball of the new FIBA World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers while all remaining Competition System registered teams will play the FIBA EuroBasket 2021 & Calendar Pre-Qualifiers • The FIBA EuroBasket 2021 Pre-Qualifiers will take place during the same windows as the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers, starting in November 2017, to qualify for the FIBA EuroBasket 2021 Qualifiers which begin in November 2019 • The FIBA EuroBasket 2021 Pre-Qualifiers will qualify 8 additional teams to the FIBA EuroBasket Qualifiers

• For the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Qualifiers, there will be 80 teams from the four regions of Africa, Americas, Europe and Asia which will include Oceania • Home and away games will be played in six windows to qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 • Each window will be 9 days long, beginning on a Monday and finishing on the following Tuesday • FIBA Basketball World Cup: 32 teams: China (Host Country) + 7 from Asia region + 5 teams from Africa + 7 from the Americas + 12 from Europe

The FIBA Basketball World Cup will qualify teams for the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020 directly (7 teams) or through the 4 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments 2020.

FIBA Continental • Qualification for the FIBA Continental Cups 2021 will Cups begin in the Africa, Americas, Europe and Asia regions immediately after the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 2021 • Four windows to qualify for the FIBA Continental Cups 2021 - November 2019, February and November 2020, and February 2021
