The home side play in the Combined Counties League Division One, a step below the University, but have made a decent start to the season and deserved their win on the night. Both sides started brightly with Fleet’s Jacob Bellmaine burying a shot in Solent keeper Alex Londors’ midriff and the visitors’ Ethan Taylor firing over before Londors was at full stretch to keep out an effort from Adam Bellmaine. Solent then had the first chance of the evening when Tam Demunga was allowed to run on from what looked a suspiciously offside position only to shoot wide with just the keeper to beat. With twelve minutes gone Solent were made to pay for the miss as Rob Parrott played the ball over the top of the defence and Andre SMITH lobbed the ball over Londors who was rather in no mans land. Smith, whose pace and control made him a threat all evening, bounced a cross come shot on the top of the crossbar and the visitors were very much on the back foot before gaining a foothold in the game midway through the half. Taylor was stopped by a well-timed last ditch tackle by Naman Nasir and the home side survived three corners in quick succession with their keeper, who was a little below the regulation height, struggling in the crowded area. Solent wasted a free kick on the edge of the box and suddenly found themselves two goals down. Jack Church made a long run down the right, Smith took over and his cross to the far post was headed home by Liam JUPP, who was far from the tallest player in the box. Taylor was denied by keeper Mike Cadle before a cross was deflected in to Demunga’s path some eight yards from goal but the shot was pulled wide of the post and has to be counted as a miss. There was just time for a childish tantrum from Fleet’s James Scott before the half time whistle sounded with the home side two goals to the good. Sunday, 25 August 2019 19/20 Edition #08 Page 4 of 20 SYDENHAMS FOOTBALL LEAGUE NEWS HT 2-0 No doubt reminded of the position at half time Solent rook the game to Fleet on the restart with Taylor, who too often lacked support, twice crowded out and a Demunga cross well held by Cadle before the same player was wide with an acrobatic overhead effort. Smith reminded all of his skill with a fierce drive that was well turned round the post by Londors following a sweeping three man move and the game began to drift away as the temperature began to fall – and it is still August! The Officials them took centre stage as the referee for reasons not apparent blew his whistle, the assistant on the stand side, who had a poor game, rushed on to the playing area, the referee spoke to the Solent Bench on the far side of the pitch and then re-started the game with a dropped ball. All very strange. There was just time for Demunga to fire high and wide before the final whistle came with Fleet still two goals to the good and deserving of their victory. FT 2-0 Solent have lost a number of good players and will be hoping for reinforcements soon for without same their return to the search for League points will not get any easier. On a slightly cynical note the home side have never enjoyed great support and last night’s admission charges were raised high above our Division One prices “because the Officials fees would be higher than usual”.

OFFICIAL DIGITAL PROGRAMME FLEET TOWN v HARTLEY WINTNEY TUESDAY 13th MARCH 2018 – 7.45 P.M The Evo-Stik League South East Toyosi Olusanya MOM in our last home game Fleet Town Squad 2017/18 SPONSORED BY WELCOME FROM OUR JOINT MANAGER ANDY HUNT Good evening and welcome to the Franki Foundation Stadium home of Fleet Town F.C. Tonight we face our local rivals Hartley Wintney for the very first time at this level in an Evo-Stik South East Division fixture. I hope everyone visiting us has a good time, enjoys the game and a safe journey home. I would especially like to extend a very warm welcome to everyone from H.W.F.C tonight. Having had some very enjoyable times at the club as a player, I am pleased they are doing so well over the last few years but that will be on hold for 90 odd minutes tonight whilst the game is in progress though ! Hartley are having a fantastic season, which continues on from ‘back to back’ League titles in the Combined Counties. The club is where it should be now and I hope this continues for years to come. They have got a great chance of making the play offs and have had good runs in both major Cup competitions. It’s always good to have a proper derby match at this time of year and I fully expect both teams to go out and give every effort to make it a game to remember. Millers and Dan Brownlie, their joint Managers have really made great progress with the club and when you look at the players they are attracting then you have to take your hat off to them.

FLEET TOWN v MONEYFIELDS nd Monday April 22 2019 – 3.00 P.M Evo-Stik League South Division 1 South Today’s Fleet Town ‘Man of the Match’ is Sponsored by Easi–Leaflets http://easi-leaflets.com SPONSORED BY Dear Flee t Town supporters, A WELCOME MESSAGE FROM OUR MANAGER DAVE KELLY We welcome Moneyfields to Calthorpe Park, hopefully the management team, players, supporters and committee enjoy the day. With this being the last home game of the season. I don't want to look back on what might have been. Whatever happens regarding the league we will be in next season I know that the club is now secure and looking to build for the future. This season has had various challenges for us with league moves early on to managers leaving, players leaving and challenges that are faced on a regular basis with the day to day running which I have had to undertake alongside my own full time job together with managing the team. We can make a whole list of excuses on why we are in this position but instead of looking at all of these, I want to move forward and look to the future. We have a young talented team that have learned a great deal this season that will develop further alongside new signings that are planned over the summer. This will show our intent to get this great club back to winning games consistently. We have some exciting steps which we are taking that we will be able to let people know about after the game today in a Q&A with myself and the coaching team, this will take place in The Clubhouse at around 5.45pm.
