Public Notice of Unclaimed Property PUBLIC NOTICE OF UNCLAIMED PROPERTY The City of Denton holds various types of unclaimed property less than $100 presumed abandoned and subject to Title VI Unclaimed Property Chapter 76 of Texas Property Code Pursuant to Section 76.201. IT IS YOUR MONEY Search for your name or business in this notice. If you find a property belonging to you, we want to help you get your property back. Any person possessing a legal or beneficial interest in the reported property may obtain information concerning the amount of the property by presenting proof of the claim and establishing a right to receive the property. Property belonging to you will continue to be held until you claim it.     HAMLET: PRESS RESPONSES Almeida & West End (2017) Shakespeare www.roberticke.com FINANCIAL TIMES Ian Shuttleworth ★★★★★ I have been privileged to see several first-class Hamlets this century: Simon Russell Beale, Samuel West, David Tennant, Rory Kinnear, Maxine Peake, arguably Lars Eidinger. Andrew Scott is at least as outstanding as any of those, and right now I’m inclined to rank him in front. His Prince is almost always self-aware, but not self-understanding; on the contrary, his keynote is a kind of bemused wonder at goings-on both within and beyond his skin. The great soliloquies seem new-minted, every word a separate question. The playfulness at which Scott so excels (most notably as Moriarty in BBC-TV’s Sherlock) is here kept under a rigorously tight rein. I did not see this production when it opened at the Almeida a few months ago, but my impression is that neither Scott’s nor anyone else’s performance has been ramped up for a venue two and half times the size; the consequent occasional intelligibility problems are far outweighed by the sense of human scale. For this is the glory of Robert Icke’s production. It does not consist of a superlative Prince Hamlet, a clutch of fine supporting performances and a number of sharp directorial ideas stitched together into a plausible fabric; rather, it is whole and entire of itself. Angus Wright’s cool, disciplined Claudius, Juliet Stevenson’s besotted-then-horrified Gertrude, Jessica Brown Findlay’s Ophelia (at first at sea like Hamlet, finally psychologically shattered in a wheelchair), David Rintoul’s doubling of the Ghost and the Player King .

    Ohio Communication Journal Volume 52 – October 2014, pp. 64-74 The Walking (Gendered) Dead: A Feminist Rhetorical Critique of Zombie Apocalypse Television Narrative John Greene Michaela D.E. Meyer This essay presents a feminist rhetorical criticism of AMC’s The Walking Dead, exposing how hegemonic gender roles reinforce patriarchy within the series. We connect previous research on horror film and television, particularly in the zombie apocalypse genre, to representations of gender roles in popular culture. Our analysis reveals five categories of gendered representation: sexist rhetoric, division of labor, the role of protector, White male leadership, and the role of the dutiful wife. The Walking Dead narrative features women as incapable of surviving the apocalypse without men, renders them slaves to products of consumption (such as clothing), and ultimately strips them of autonomous decision making. We connect these images to the never-ending process of consumption and creation perpetuated by zombie narratives as representative of our social unease with capitalism, consumerism and its link to gendered identity. Over fifty years after George A. Romero forever changed the horror genre with Night of the Living Dead, 5.3 million viewers watched once again as the dead rose to devour the living in the series premiere of AMC’s The Walking Dead (AMC, 2010). The Walking Dead is one of the most-watched pieces of zombie fiction ever created, and is the first that has been successfully launched on cable television. Robert Kirkman, the creator of the graphic novel series on which the show is based, stated that “it’s something that succeeds in movies all the time, but I don’t think anybody has seen survival horror on TV before” (Stelter, 2010).
