Montanans took several steps that institutionalized Legislative actions since then have tinkered with limits on the gambling. Video poker machines became legal in number of machines per casino and with payout levels, and 1985. Montana’s two main non-reservation gambling systems, the lottery and video gaming, have been in place for several years now, and we should have useful data on revenue trends and distribution patterns. If there are serious gaps, that too tells us something important. Moreover, we should be able to compare our gambling experience with that of other states, see where we stack up, and what else we might learn. Finally, with facts in hand, perhaps it’s time to ask for citizen input. For instance, do Montanans understand and approve the fiscal relationship between gambling and schools? Does a state run lottery constitute wise use of scarce government resources? D o the system and rate of taxation on Montana’s privately owned video machines make sense? Should the Legislature revisit the splits? Before we jump into the data, one disclaimer. This report leaves much not done.     Master Plan Update - Final Kalispell City Airport Chapter 5 FACILITY REQUIREMENTS 5.15.15.1 Introduction The facility requirements section of this study defines the physical facilities needed to safely and efficiently accommodate the current and future aviation demands at the Kalispell City Airport. Forecasts of aviation activity are used to establish facility needs. Standard criteria for airport facilities are found in the FAA’s Advisory Circulars and Regulations. Facilities discussed in this section include the runway, taxiway, tie-downs, hangars, apron, navigational aids, and miscellaneous facilities. 5.25.25.2 Airport Classification The FAA publishes an advisory circular, AC 150/5300-13 “Airport Design”, which deals with site requirements for design of utility airports, aircraft data for airport design, and design of airport aprons. Airport design, under AC 150/5300-13, is guided by the Airport Reference Code (ARC). 5.2.1 Airport Reference Code (ARC) The ARC is a coding system used by the FAA to relate airport design criteria to the operational and physical characteristics of the most demanding family of aircraft utilizing an airport. The ARC consists of two components related to the design airplane selected for the airport. A letter depicts one component, the aircraft approach category. The five aircraft approach categories, designated A through E are determined by the aircraft approach speed, which, in general, affects design of runways and runway-related facilities. A Roman numeral designates the second component, the airplane design group. This is related to airplane wing span, which primarily determines aircraft separation requirements and influences the design of taxiways and taxilanes.

    MONTANA AIRPORTS Y D TU T S AC MP 2016 C I OMI ECON Introduction Montana’s airports play an integral role in our transportation system by providing access to destinations within the state, throughout the country, and across the globe. Airports also offer significant economic benefits to our communities by supporting jobs; generating payroll; paying taxes; and triggering spending at local, regional, and state levels. The importance of airports goes beyond transportation and economics. Airports offer access, services, and other valuable attributes for Montanans that cannot always be easily measured in dollars and cents. Residents and visitors use airports for leisure and business travel, and airports serve as the base for a wide range of critical activities such as wildland firefighting, search and rescue operations, and training for future aviators. Airports are the starting point for aircraft that conduct utility inspections, provide medical evacuation services, and transport staff and executives for business activity. This Economic Impact Study analyzed the contributions of Montana’s airports to determine the benefits that airports provide throughout the state. This study updated the previous analysis conducted in 2007 and 2008.     MDT - Department of Transportation Aeronautics Division Vol. 58 No. 10 October 2007 Three Forks Fly-In Great Success The 29th annual Three Forks Fly-In was held August 2-4 at Progreba Field in Three Forks. Pilots start arriving on Thursday, in time for Bud Hall’s and Neil and Karen Salmi’s annual taco and burrito feast! “Harold” the Hamm’s Beer Truck was presented to Zola Hamm in memory of Harold. The mail truck was given a complete restoration by Bud Hall, Steve Kleimer, Alan Drain, and Dennis Mecklenberg. Kip Kapenos of Signs and Designs of Bozeman donated all of the vinyl lettering. Evert Wierda donated the use of his hangar for the project. Bob and Linda Marshall donated the mail truck to MAAA. The truck is now painted Cub yellow with the lighting bolt stripe. The money received in Harold’s memory was used to restore the truck. Zola even kissed “Harold”! There were over a l00 planes on the field through out the three day event. Breakfast and lunch was provided by the Three Forks Boy Scouts and Friday and Saturday night dinners “Harold” the Hamm’s beer truck was presented to Zola Hamm in were provided by MAAA with Bob and Pat Green and their memory of Harold whose presence is truly missed at the Three crew doing the cooking and serving. The logs were harvested from a forest just a few feet away, many of these timbers were 60 feet in length. The species of timber are mostly oak and hickory. The logs were disassembled and shipped to Montana, where Yellowstone Traditions, a premier builder out of Bozeman, created the magnificent lodge on 60 acres. The collection of photos in this brochure gives one an idea of the craftsmanship that went into the construction of this Lodge; but only by seeing it in person can one truly grasp the astonishing artisan labor that went into creating this structure. From cutting down the trees, to hand hewing the logs, to disassembling the barn, to shipping the logs to Montana and reconstructing them into a lodge with 21st century amenities, the Sundowner Lodge is a piece of history and a work of art.
