ELECTRIC GUITAR NUTS PRODUCT SIZING TIP: All Products Pictured Are Actual Size THE SELF LUBRICATING NUT WITH TONE STRINGS FLOAT EFFORTLESSLY BACK INTO TUNE. TREM-NUT will keep your guitar in tune longer than graphite, bone plastic or synthetic nuts. In addition, a TREM-NUT has crystal clear tone and sustain. TREM-NUTs are factory-installed by many major guitar manufacturers. HOW TREM-NUTS WORK: As strings move across a TREM-NUT, they shear open microscopic “capsules” loaded with millions of “ball bearing” type lubricants. For strings, it’s like a hardwood fl oor covered in marbles... strings roll back into tune. It’s that simple! When installing a TREM-NUT, replace any retainers (string trees) with TREM-NUT string retainers to alleviate friction and binding at these contact points. COMPARISON CHART “As far as your Trem-Nut goes, it’s incredible! I can’t believe that after tuning the guitar and stretching the strings a bit, it actually stayed in tune! No binding, TREM-NUT IVORY MICARTA™ BONE CORIAN™ nothing!” Increases sustain C. Walog, Guitarist, USA Improves tone “Before, my Strat would never stay in tune, and then I used your products and it Consistent quality never goes out. All guitars should come with Graph Tech (parts).” Super lubricating D. Stallard, Guitarist Improves tuning Designed for Trem use “I am very impressed by your products. We have used the nuts on both acous- Flake & chip resistant tic and electric guitars and they have proven to be far more sustainable than bone or graphite, the materials we have used up until now.” Inspires confi dence H. • Design of a Composite Guitar Master Thesis Report Max Roest
Technische Universiteit Delft Design of a composite guitar Master Thesis Report Max Roest Design of a composite guitar Master Thesis Report by Max Roest Student number: 4084217 Hand-in date: August 17, 2016 Supervisor: dr. ir. O.K. Bergsma, TU Delft Summary Today’s acoustic guitars are getting increasingly expensive due to the worsening availability of the highest quality woods. Composites show great promise in replacing wood in acoustic guitars as they are lightweight, are not as sensitive to environmental effects and are much stronger. Current composite guitars however do not sound as good as their wooden counterparts. Therefore this thesis research has been set-up to create a composite material that can match wood acoustically and therefore have all the benefits in terms of environ- mental sensitivity and strength while not compromising the sound quality of the instrument. A new com- posite is developed and extensively tested. This composite consists of a carbon fibre reinforced polyurethane foam and has a comparable acoustic response to high quality spruce used for guitar soundboards. With this new composite a complete composite guitar is designed, manufactured and tested. The psychoacoustic anal- ysis performed showed that the new composite guitar is considerably more wood like in its sound compared to current carbon fibre acoustic guitars. ii Preface Max Roest Delft, July 2016 It is over 20 years ago that I received my first guitar. A few months later, at the age of 4, I had my first guitar lessons. Now at the age of 24, it is hard to remember any period in my life where guitars and music have not played a major role in my life.

Stephen Arnold Music to Raffle Off Replica Guitars at PromaxBDA Conferences 05.30.2017 Once again, Stephen Arnold Music has teamed up with PromaxBDA to showcase and giveaway a handful of unique guitars. Arnold, an avid collector, has organized two separate displays for PromaxBDA: The Conference and Station Summit. At PromaxBDA: The Conference, he'll be showing off guitars that are exact replicas of ones that The Beatles played. Arnold had a similar display at last year's Conference and decided he wanted to extend the raffle to West Coasters. "We decided we would pretty much replicate what we did in New York," he said. At Station Summit, Arnold was inspired by a waterproof guitar he ran across and decided to tie the giveaway into the different sections of a newscast for the annual gathering of broadcaster marketers. "It's actually weatherproof because it's all carbon fiber," he said. "Literally, you can play it in the rain. In addition to the weather segment, he sought other guitars to match up with news blocks including politics, morning shows, investigative reporting and sports, and even threw in a guitar signed by Bruce Springsteen. The theme is also in line with his company's multi-platform image campaign "I'm Weather Ready," a turnkey weather marketing package for local TV stations. The toolkit includes an original song and video campaign that stations can customize using their own footage and marketing assets. You can either blow forcefully in the air, or use compressed air, such as that found in computer keyboard air cleaners. Second, ensure that the ribbon is lying flat in the saddle slot. Guitar Virtual Learning Guitar Materials May 13, 2020 Guitar Lesson: May 13, 2020 Objective/Learning Target: What materials do guitar makers use to build guitars, and how do different materials used change the guitar? Warm-Up Activity Watch this short video of a 360° image of an acoustic guitar. What parts are made out of wood, and what parts might be made out of something else? 2nd Warm-Up Activity The guitar on the left is made out of carbon fiber. The guitar on the right is made out of wood. How do you think this might make them sound or play differently? Materials That Make a Guitar We have been learning about the different components of acoustic and electric guitars. While the differences in components show us the differences between steel string, classical, and electric guitars, the materials guitars are built with can also make them very different from each other. Today, we will briefly touch on the non-wooden materials used to build guitars, then spend a lot of time learning about all the different types of wood and how they shape guitars’ sound. Non-Wooden parts to a guitar On most acoustic and electric guitars, the majority of the instrument is made out of some kind of wood. But some important pieces are not. This is usually because the pieces need to be stronger or able to take more tension than wood can handle. Strings This one is probably obvious, but on all types of guitars, the strings are made out of some combination of nylon or different types of metal.
