After that, head into the gourmet grocery store to buy insanely delicious and fresh take-away sushi; there are also kid-friendly foods. Then head to nearby Rongxing Park for a picnic. The park also has a small indoor swimming pool, playground and giant squirrels. All of Taipei’s night markets are interesting, so take your pick, but we personally love Raohe Night Market. It’s just one long street, so you can’t get lost, there’s a gorgeous Matsu Temple at the eastern entrance, and one block away you can go over the river flood wall to admire pretty, pedestrian-only Rainbow Bridge. legend about the humble silk worm and the origin of silk has been passed down throughout the centuries. AThe story takes place during the reign of the Yellow Emperor, Xuanyuan Huangdi. According to Confucius, around the year 2,700 B.C., Lady Hsi-Ling Shih, the wife of the Yellow Emperor, was having tea under a mulberry tree when a silk worm cocoon fell into her tea cup. Curious, she watched it for a few moments, and then tried to remove it with her fingers. As she did, she accidentally pulled loose a silk thread from the cocoon, which had begun to unravel. She realized that this soft, shiny yet strong silk thread could be made into fabric. THE GIVING OF ROMANCE PURSES Countless stories of court intrigue and romance have been kindled from the intimate custom of purse giving by young Chinese maidens to their lovers.
