The data supports various local, county, and state traffic safety programs; engineering and planning projects; legislative concepts; and law enforcement services. Legally reportable motor vehicle traffic crashes are those involving death, bodily injury, or damage to personal property in excess of $500 (for crashes that occurred prior to 9/01/1997) or $1,000 (for crashes that occurred from 9/01/1997 through 12/31/2003). As of January 1, 2004, drivers are required to file an Accident and Insurance Report Form with DMV within 72 hours when: injury or death resulted from the accident; damage to the driver's vehicle is over $1,500; damage to any vehicle is over $1,500 and any vehicle is towed from the scene as a result of said damage; or damage to any one person’s property, other than a vehicle involved in the accident, is over $1,500. As of 01/01/2018, the damage threshold was raised to $2,500. For more information on filing requirements, please contact DMV at https://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/DMV/Pages/index.aspx. Mason* If 1971 could be labelled the year of "Emergent Environmentalism", then 1972 will almost certainly have to be tagged as the year of "Enforced Environmentalism." Of particular interest to the extrac­ tive"mineral industry will be the implementation of HB 3013, the Mined Land Reclamation Act, which becomes effective on July 1, 1972. Other environmental regulations originating at state or Fed­ eral levels will also have profound effect on the industry. Despite the lackadaisical state of the economy, mineral pro­ duction in Oregon chalked up a modest gain, rising to an estimated $68.4 million. As usual, sand and gravel and stone accounted for most of the production. The value of metals and metallurgical prod­ ucts refi ned in the sta te is not inc Iuded in the canvass by the U . S. Bureau of Mines. If this figure were included, the total would exceed $700 million. The Big E The Environment means many things to many people. To the sand-and­ gravel producer Environment will mean conformance to the Mined Land Reclamation Act which goes into effect July 1, 1972, and which will require a permit, a mining plan, a reclamation program and the payment of a small fee.     Coastal Discovery Center at Camp Gray Summer Camp Information Packet About the Coastal Discovery Center at Camp Gray In the 1960s—building on the success of OMSI’s first residential camp site at the Hancock Field Station in eastern Oregon—OMSI began holding Science Safari camping programs along the Oregon coast. Since then, OMSI’s coastal camps have provided exploration and adventure to thousands of campers. Between the San Juan Islands in Washington down to the Redwoods in Northern California, decades of campers have hiked, canoed, and explored the Pacific coast. In 2016, the Coastal Discovery Center at Camp Gray opened as the new home and heart of OMSI’s coastal programs. It was the culmination of a five-year capital campaign that raised $10 million dollars and sixty years of programming west of the Cascades. Camp Gray now serves more than 4,000 participants annually from across the United States, as well as from Japan. Nestled in Newport, Oregon, between Yaquina Bay and the expansive dunes of South Beach State Park, there are numerous opportunities to explore the wide range of ecosystems on the Oregon coast. On a walk between the cabin door and the beach, campers investigate the connections between the ocean, geology, and ecology. OMSI summer camp is designed for children entering 2nd through 12th grade to learn about science, the natural world, themselves, and each other—while forming lifelong friendships. We achieve this by fostering a spirit of community, adventure, and growth.
