Background Growth Deals provide funds to Local Enterprise Partnerships for projects that benefit the local area and economy. To date, the Greater Lincolnshire LEP has been awarded £146.2 million of future capital investment to support the growth of the local economy through the Growth Deal process. This allocation includes £82.3 million of additional funding that has been secured through a competitive bidding process to deliver 17 new projects across the LEP area. It also includes a number of existing funding commitments from Government through the Department for Transport (£50m for Lincoln Eastern By Pass), Local Transport Board (£11.9m towards Grantham Southern Relief Road) and Regional Growth Fund (£2m). Delivery of the new projects will be phased throughout the Growth Deal period (2014 to 2021) and each project is required to undertake further due diligence work with the LEP prior to formal contracting and start on site.
