Corporate Social Responsibility - South Limited

South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has adopted Coal Limited’s (CIL) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy. Our CSR policy aims at making CSR a key business process for sustainable development for the Society. We supplement the role of the Government in enhancing welfare measures of the society based on the immediate and long term social and environmental consequences of our activities. Engaging with our community and working towards their development is an integral part of our business. We are committed to sustainable development and inclusive growth in the surrounding areas of our mining Projects. This commitment is translated into action through a network of CSR Projects through which we are dedicated to play a pivotal role in the journey from poverty to prosperity of villages of and Madhya Pradesh and thus to bridge the rural-urban gap through a robust CSR Policy.

Statistics of CSR Budget & Expenditure of SECL

The fund for the CSR is allocated based on 2% of the average net profit of last three immediate preceding years subject to minimum of Rs. 2/- per tonne of coal production of previous year. Out of the above, 80% is allocated for CSR activities to be carried out in the vicinity of SECL Establishment, within a radius of 25 KMs for every project and Areas including Headquarters and balance 20% is allocated for carrying out CSR activities by Subsidiary Companies in the State to which the Subsidiary Company belongs.
