South Eastern Coalfields Limited thinks that they have a social responsibility not because they are a corporate entity - we consider social responsibility as a part of the citizen’s identity. As an organisation that leads the mining industry in the country, we believe that our impact on society must be substantial and far-reaching- in terms of geography and the future.

SECL takes Corporate Social Responsibility seriously- significant time and effort is put into planning and executing multiple socially beneficial programmes and initiatives. As a renowned and respected organisation with nearly 30 years of mining experience, we are well versed with the process of development of people and communities. Our attitude towards CSR does not extend only to financing events and infrastructure- we aim to build a better society by empowering people with skills and tools.

SECL believes that to develop a community it needs to be empowered and not restricted, it needs to be allowed to preserve its culture and be fed with overall positivity. This is the essence of Corporate Social Responsibility. Ltd., a Mini Ratna Company, is a company, with operations in 6 districts of Chhattisgarh and 3 districts of Madhya Pradesh. Since inception, it has had an impressive record of surpassing its own previous production figures, creating new bench mark for coal production, every year.
