The first of Jesus’ miracles to be recorded in John’s gospel takes place during a wedding Sunday School taking part at Cana in Galilee. The worst nightmare for any groom in those days was to run out of Tea & coffee afterwards wine during the wedding feast – he could be fined for such bad preparation – but that is exactly what happened at this feast. Somehow, Mary knew that her son, Jesus, could do Everyone Welcome something about it, so she told him of the problem. His solution was an interesting one that said a lot about his ministry and the prevailing religion at the time. Jesus points to six ceremonial stone jars (the kind used in religious purification ceremonies, each holding twenty to thirty gallons) and tells the servants to fill them with Tuesday Club water. During February 2014 there was major uproar about the All Saints Church, Raughton Head. flooding on the Somerset levels and the Thames. February 2015, by comparison, has been Breakfast will be provided very placid. However, it was a noticeably colder and drier month than 2014. The rainfall in the church afterwards. of 44 mm was just above half the average and miniscule in comparison to the 166 mm of 2014. In fact, if it had not been for the 17 mm of rain on the 25th/26th and other accumulation at the end of the month it would have been a record dry month. Up to the 21st we had only had about 7 mm of rain. There was little snow though the fall of about 1½ " in late January did not entirely disappear until about 8th February. With regard to temperature, the month returned to something like a normal one. Both the Maximum and Minimum were below average. The minimum was noticeably lower. The number of days with frost (11) was higher than recently, explaining the lower average. The minimum for the month (-8.4), though low, was not exceptional. The maximum was only marginally cooler, reflecting the mix of sunny and cloudy days. It was a calm month with no winds of any strength at any time. It was a relatively sunny month with 8 days where the sun shone for at least half the day.

WINTER 2014/15 th Winter 2014/15 has been singled out as being one of the sunniest on record. I can make Monday 27 April at 7.30 pm. little comment on this as I do not hold sunshine records. It does, however, seem to have been quite sunny but I would suggest the statistic being quoted is heavily slanted towards in All Saints Church the sunnier South of the country. From our point of view it was wetter than average – 316 mm as against an average of 265, Raughton Head but nowhere near as wet as 2013/4 with its 416 mm! Temperatures were near average. The minimum was marginally above at 0.37 as against 0.29. The maximum was below at 7.05 as against 7.32. Altogether it was really quite an average winter but again there was little local snowfall, though more than 2013/4 and few stormy days. Naomi explained that the aim is to restore, protect and celebrate the natural habitats and heritage of the Solway Plain. There are three main types of wetlands. The Wet Grasslands, important for dragonflies, insects and birds, Salt marshes where you can find wading birds and a plethora of Nattajack toads and the third being Peat Bogs, which come the summer turn white with the cotton grass. These bogs help to prevent flooding and have a massive carbon store. Damage to these Peat Bogs can have an adverse effect on the atmosphere and therefore increase global warming. Thanks to the work of The Solway Wetlands Landscape Partnership Scheme and the many Little Rascals Nursery volunteers who help, the numbers of birds, insects, toads and plants has increased and in Little Rascals Nursery offer quality child care, and early years education, to children particular the return of the Marsh Fritillary Butterfly, a species which had previously been 2 years 6 months – 4 years of age. We are attached to Raughton Head C of E Primary in great decline. The Solway Wetlands Centre is just west of Bowness on Solway, where School, are Ofsted registered, and provide a safe learning environment both indoors and there is a visitor centre, providing exhibitions and educational opportunities. Also there are outdoors for your children. marked walking trails whereby you can experience the wetlands. See what a morning, gloriously bright,

with the dawning of hope in Jerusalem; folded the grave clothes, tomb filled with light, as the angels announce Christ is risen! See God’s salvation plan, wrought in love, borne in pain, paid in sacrifice,

fulfilled in Christ, the man, for He lives: Christ is risen from the dead!
