Kia ora whānau

I can’t believe we are on the count down to the end of the year! We have been busy at school this term getting ready for our final assembly - learning songs, booking equipment, organising certificates, creating our leaver magazine, planning the leaver video, collecting in last year’s trophies ready for this year’s winners, and talking to our Upcoming Year 5 students about leadership opportunities for 2021. Events At our End of Year assembly we will not only be saying a very fond farewell to Mrs Meys as she retires, but also a temporary farewell to Whaea Kim. Kim has been awarded a well deserved period of 32 weeks study leave to undertake her Masters in Term 4 Educational and Developmental Psychology. This is an amazing opportunity for her Labour Day - School Closed and we are so proud of her for being selected for this highly contested opportunity. Monday 26 October Whaea Kim will join us for a week at the beginning of 2021 and then she will be back again in Term 4. Choir to Kids Sing Wednesday 28 October To cover Mrs Meys and Whaea Kim, we recently advertised for two new staff members for 2021 and we have been absolutely overwhelmed by the number of quality Whole School Athletics applicants for these two positions. The interview process will take place over the next Thursday 29 October week or so. BOT Meeting Focussing back to the immediate future, we are looking forward to our school athletics Monday 2 November day next week. This is always a great fun day - but we do need parent help as we Ag Day simply can’t run the day without you. If you haven’t already, please go on to school Saturday 7 November shop and give permission for your child to attend this day, indicate transport arrangements and whether or not you can help out. College Transition Day Monday 16 November Our fundraising committee have been working tirelessly on preparations for our Ag / Gala day on 7th November. Thank you to everyone who has already contributed goodie jars, prizes and chocolates to this event. If you don’t know what this collection is about, please contact fundraise@.school.nz for more information :)
