PIA Leichhardt Tigers will be determined to take home all Athree points when they host Marconi Stallions on Sunday. BALL BOYS - NPL 13 Second placed APIA missed the chance to cut they three point Bassam Aoun lead of top team Sydney Olympic as the two side’s settled for a 1-1 draw in Round 13. Kade Barkhan Marconi also took home a point last weekend as they shared Victor Cipolla the spoils with Bonnyrigg White Eagles after a 2-2 draw. Jordan Dias Winger Sean Symons was a break out star for the Tigers in 2017 and has remained a key contributor for Billy McColl’s side Antonio Glavan during this campaign. His ability to drive the ball past defenders Gabriel Gotting ensures that opposition sides don’t push up too high with Symons speed and strength easily able to punish his marker. Joseph Hatem Marconi’s Marc Warren, playing only his second game with his Avele Jaucian-Alaalatoa new club, makes a return to APIA only two weeks after making Julian Perugini the move to join the Stallions. Justin Poon The former Perth Glory and Sydney FC player had a great start to his time at Marconi Stadium with a man of the match Antonio Rizzo performance against Bonnyrigg. Luka Samardzic He will have extra motivation to prove himself against his Rawley St John former side. Nicholas Stojkovic APIA will be the favourites coming into this match with the side desperate for victory as they chase league leaders Olympic. Christian Tanti If the Tigers aren’t careful it could easily be an upset with Max Vartuli Marconi not a team which can be easily written off.

Sydney Olympic 1 – APIA Leichhardt Tigers 1 at Belmore Sportsground A last gasp Nathan Millgate header has helped a 10-man APIA Leichhardt Tigers snatch a 1-1 daw against Sydney Olympic at Belmore Sportsground on Sunday. It was a heartbreaking result for Sydney Olympic who dominated the majority of the match and should’ve taken a six point lead at the top of the National Premier Leagues NSW competition ladder. Jinya An gave the home side the lead in the 35th minute with a cool finish from inside the penalty area after a scrap for possession from a looping corner kick. APIA were determined to fight back but were reduced to 10-men when Brandon Lundy was shown a second yellow and sent off in the 68th minute. However, the visitors would find the equaliser they were ever so desperate for as Millgate jumped above two markers to nod home the equaliser. The result means Olympic stay at the top of the competition with a three point lead over the second placed Tigers.

Marconi Stallions 2 – Bonnyrigg White Eagles 2 at Marconi Stadium Marconi Stallions and Bonnyrigg White Eagles were forced to share the spoils after playing out a hard fought 2-2 draw at Marconi Stadium on Saturday. Bonnyrigg snatched a point from the result thanks to a clinical Shervin Adeli penalty in the 62nd minute. It was another difficult result for Marconi who were in prime position to claim victory before conceding a second half equaliser. Bonnyrigg captain Ray Miller gave the visitors the perfect start with a goal in the eighth minute which proved to be the only goal of the first half as the White Eagles went into the break with a 1-0 lead. However, the home side hit back early in the second stanza as a 48th minute strike from Peter Pelekanos levelled the score before Sean Rooney put Marconi in front 2-1 ten minutes later. But it wasn’t to be for the Stallions as a handball in the box only moments later gifted Bonnyrigg an equaliser and an all important competition point.

14 NPLNSW.COM.AU U20’S MATCH PREVIEW

PIA Leichhardt Tigers are hunting for a victory Ato keep in touch with the top five against Marconi Stallions at Lambert Park on Sunday afternoon.

Franco Consentino’s side are currently three points away from fifth-placed Hakoah Sydney City East with nine fixtures remaining and having staggered through an inconsistent to date the 2017 Grand Finalists need to start building momentum.

The Tigers have offered encouraging signs over the past month, particularly in the organization of the defence, and enter the contest with back to back clean sheets against Sydney Olympic and Manly United.

Visitors Marconi know they can’t afford another slip up in their diminishing bid for finals football, although with the Stallions just three points behind Sunday’s opponents and having beaten the Tigers 3-2 a month ago, it could be a match to regenerate their season.
