APIA LEICHHARDT TIGERS FC

The 2016 PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s season was one that won’t be remembered very fondly by APIA Leichhardt and its fans.

The club, although starting off on the right track failed to live up to the team’s high expectations and finished in eighth spot.

The Lambert Park faithful have been starved of success and are hoping that 2017 will be the year for their team to rediscover their winning form.

However, the pressure will be on and another slow start could have serious repercussions.

SYDNEY FC

The Hyundai A-League side’s best young stars are the new team on the PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s block and they arrive with a big target on their back.

While player development is the primary focus for coach Robbie Stanton’s youth side, the fact they carry the Sydney FC name will have the other 11 PS4 NPL NSW teams desperate to put them in their place.

Despite a dominant PS4 NPL 2 NSW Men’s season in 2016, Sydney FC’s young stars will need to take their game to another level.

SYDNEY UNITED 58 FC

It was a year for the record books at Sydney United 58 in 2016.

A PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Premiership title, a PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues Australia title and victory in the Waratah Cup were all won by the boys from Edensor Park in a season of incredible football.

With a new coach and fresh from a week of preparing for the upcoming season with global football big spenders Shanghai Shenhua in China, Sydney United 58 will be determined to take their game to an all new level led by new skipper Nick Stavroulakis.

THE COACH COACHES COMMENTS

Entering his third full season as senior coach, Jacob Timpano, a “There is a lot of talent in our squad, we've bought some good former Wolves player himself, is establishing himself as one of the players in. I think Patrick [Antelmi] probably headlines that, but I think country's best young coaching talents. In his first season, Timpano his addition shows how well the club is travelling and I'm definitely led the Wolves to an unlikely finals campaign and while 2016 proved hoping for a strong season this time around. The A-League talk a much tougher season for him and his players, the 31-year-old is around the club is exciting, but we've got a job to do in the NPL first, raring to go in 2017. Who knows, the A-League might just beckon for and that's what we're focused on." him next. INS OBJECTIVES Patrick Antelmi (Blacktown City)

After a strong recruitment drive – headlined by the signing of former Steve Hayes (Sutherland Sharks) Blacktown City FC star Patrick Antelmi - in the off-season and some Michael Robinson (Bonnyrigg White Eagles) better luck on the injury front over pre-season, finals should really be Hayden Morton (Blacktown Spartans) the minimum objective for Timpano and Co. From there, anything can Ben Tosi (Blacktown Spartans) happen in finals. A potential championship dark horse perhaps? Hristijan Tanoski (Rockdale City Suns) Luke Kairies (Mounties Wanderers) PLAYER TO WATCH Yuzo Tashiro (Cerezo Osaka) Patrick Antelmi was arguably the crown jewel in a Blacktown City side OUTS that has dominated the league in recent seasons. He left the club Zac McKenzie (Bonnyrigg White Eagles) with two Championships and a Premiership to show for his goal- Kota Kawase (Asia) scoring play-making efforts and he will be looking to headline the Ricky Zucco (Illawara PL) Wolves charge to the title this season. Ben Zucco (Illawarra PL) Daniel Collision (Vic NPL) RISING STAR Danny Lazarevski (Illawarra PL)

Fresh out of the National Youth League system with the Western Sydney Wanderers, Josh McDonald will feel he has plenty to prove with the Wollongong Wolves this season. The youngster comes highly rated but starved of senior opportunities and he will be looking to make a big impact on the competition with the Wolves as he seeks a return to the A-League.
