RIEDY NPLNSW.COM.AU 1ST GRADE MATCH PREVIEW nspired by their new coach, Sydney United 58 Ihave their eyes on climbing the ladder with another big win when they host Sutherland Sharks on Saturday. Miro Valstelica has the Edensor Park based side firing on all cylinders once again as was shown in their 3-0 win against Sydney FC last round. Their opponents this week are in need of a win as Sutherland went down 2-1 to Wollongong in Round 15. The smarts of veteran striker Chris Payne helped the Reds to victory last week and the former A-League journeyman will play a vital role once again this week alongside the team’s maestro in Panny Nikas as well as Matty Sim. The Sharks will need former Wellington Phoenix stopper Jacob Tratt to be at his best to stop Payne and a resurgent United 58 attack. Sutherland are desperate for victory to stay in touching distance of a top five finish. It will be a close fought contest with plenty of intrigue for fans. 1ST GRADE - NPL NSW MEN’S POS TEAM P W D L F A GD PTS 1 Sydney Olympic FC 15 10 3 2 27 13 14 33 2 APIA Leichhardt Tigers FC 15 9 2 4 33 16 17 29 3 Blacktown City FC 14 7 3 4 21 13 8 24 4 Sydney United 58 FC 15 7 2 6 22 18 4 23 5 Rockdale City Suns FC 15 6 2 7 28 31 -3 20 6 Marconi Stallions FC 15 5 5 5 19 23 -4 20 7 Hakoah Sydney City East FC 15 5 4 6 23 22 1 19 8 Wollongong Wolves FC 15 5 4 6 15 25 -10 19 9 Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC 14 5 3 6 21 30 -9 18 10 Sutherland Sharks FC 15 5 2 8 20 22 -2 17 11 Manly United FC 15 4 5 6 21 24 -3 17 12 Sydney FC 15 2 3 10 18 31 -13 9 5 MATCH REVIEWS #NPLNSW Sydney FC 0 – Sydney United 58 FC 3 at Lambert Park An inspired second half performance has helped Sydney United 58 to a 3-0 win against Sydney FC at Lambert Park on Saturday. After withstanding an impressive attacking onslaught from the home side in the opening 45 minutes, United 58 found their shooting boots to dominate the second stanza and claim all three competition points. Veteran striker Chris Payne opened the scoring in the 45th minute before a quality finish from Patrick Antelmi doubled the visitors lead with only seven minutes left on the clock. Payne wrapped up the result in the final moments in the game with a trademark goal from inside the edge of the penalty area to finish the match with a brace. The result cements United 58’s fourth position on the table, while Sydney FC remain at the bottom of the competition after 15 rounds. Wollongong Wolves FC – Sutherland Sharks at JJ Kelly Park A last minute winner saw a determined Wollongong Wolves come from behind to defeat Sutherland Sharks 2-1 on a chilly Sunday afternoon at JJ Kelly Park. After a goalless first half, Adrian Vranic popped up to open the scoring for the Sharks with a poacher’s effort moments after the restart. Jordan Nikolovski, making his first start for the Wolves, levelled the scores on the hour mark with a magical lob from 30 yards before the experienced Nick Montgomery completed the turnaround with a powerful winner in added time to seal a hard earned three points for the hosts. The match was played in cold and windy conditions on the South Coast, with a win on the agenda for both sides as they sought to keep themselves in contention for finals football. 6 NPLNSW.COM.AU TEAM OF THE WEEK 01: LARGE USE: OVER 150MM WIDE This logo has a smaller ‘®’ symbol FOOTBALL NSW WOULD LIKE TO THANK THEIR SPONSORS FOR THEIR CONTINUED SUPPORT 02: SMALL USE: 55MM - 150MM WIDE This logo has a larger ‘®’ symbol 7 ROUND OF 32 - LIVE DRAW - 2018 TUESDAY 26TH JUNE LIVE ON FOX SPORTS (CHECK YOUR TV GUIDE FOR COMMENCEMENT OF EVENT) FOOTBALL NSW FFA CUP REPRESENTATIVES ® NPLNSW.COM.AU PHOTO GALLERY 9 TEAM LISTS - U20’S #NPLNSW 13 Anthony Trimboli 37 Modassir Hussain 32 Anthony Vrlic 38 Jeonghui Cho 33 Luke Vlastelica 39 Karlo Borovic 34 Anthony Pedavoli 40 Daniel Lopez 35 Cole Mutton Coach: Miro Vlastelica 3 Richard Stewart 30 Joshua Briskoski 23 Deren O’brien 31 Gabriel Contigiani 24 Adam Massoud 32 James Temelkovski 25 Blake Currey 33 Thomas Papa 26 Harry Sutherland 38 Jacob Forster 27 Harrison Quirk 53 Kuot Maliet 28 Noah Chia Coach: Nick Dimovski Assistant Coach: Steven Gordon Manager: Craig Simmons U20’S - NPL NSW MEN’S POS TEAM P W D L F A GD PTS 1 Sutherland Sharks FC 15 10 1 4 36 19 17 31 2 Sydney FC 15 8 5 2 45 30 15 29 3 Blacktown City FC 14 9 1 4 30 19 11 28 4 Wollongong Wolves FC 15 8 2 5 25 17 8 26 5 Hakoah Sydney City East FC 15 8 1 6 23 26 -3 25 6 Manly United FC 15 5 4 6 21 17 4 19 7 Sydney United 58 FC 15 6 1 8 22 23 -1 19 8 Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC UNDER14 20’S5 4 5 18 19 -1 19 9 Marconi Stallions FC 15 5 2 8 18 30 -12 17 10 APIA Leichhardt Tigers FC 15 5 1 9 20 24 -4 16 11 Rockdale City Suns FC 15 3 4 8 16 35 -19 13 12 Sydney Olympic FC 15 2 4 9 13 28 -15 10 10 NPLNSW.COM.AU U20’S MATCH PREVIEW ydney United 58’s season hangs in the Sbalance as the competition leaders Sutherland Sharks arrive at Sydney United Sports Centre on Saturday evening. The Reds were hammered 7-0 by Sydney FC last Saturday, a result that could prove to be a huge blow to United 58’s chances of a finals finish. As a result of the heavy defeat, United 58 are now six points behind fifth-placed Hakoah Sydney City East, and they can barely afford for that gap to extend with another defeat to the Sharks at home. United 58 will need to offer a big performance against the competition favourites and also be wary of a slightly wounded animal when the Sharks enter the fray in Edensor Park. A profligate Sutherland were edged 3-2 by Wollongong Wolves last weekend to cut their advantage over second-placed Sydney FC to just two points. With Sydney hitting their stride and Blacktown City lingering not too far behind and with a game in hand, the competition leaders might be starting to feel the pressure for the first time this season – and a victory to ease concerns will be of paramount importance. 11 TEAM LISTS - U18’S #NPLNSW 1 Jacob Chapman 9 Ivan Ozanic 2 James Papoutsis 10 Daniel Sekulic 3 Christian Zebec 11 Joshua DeRossi 4 Nikola Pintur 12 Nickolas O’Brien 5 Jordan Ivancic 13 Nathan Grimaldi 6 Todd Bennison 14 Hassan Soufi 7 Mihalj Marcic 15 Ali Hamdan 8 Ryan Fahey Coach: Andrew Zammit 50 Louis Zabala 13 Charlie Jones 41 Lucus Camilleri 40 Bailey Pimentel 46 Luke Allen 49 Tristan Maher 39 Nathan Cupitt 47 Jacob Gjorsevski 48 Jaden Casella 38 Thomas Sutton 44 Aidan Dennis 51 Thomas Potts 42 Benjamin Raatz 54 James Nikolovski 45 Luke Sauer Coach: Jane Talcevski Assistant Coach: Nathan Denham Manager: Michael Camilleri U18’S - NPL NSW MEN’S POS TEAM P W D L F A GD PTS 1 Sydney FC 15 12 1 2 37 19 18 37 2 Blacktown City FC 14 12 0 2 36 13 23 36 3 Rockdale City Suns FC 15 10 1 4 31 18 13 31 4 Manly United FC 15 8 3 4 29 18 11 27 5 Marconi Stallions FC 15 6 5 4 20 15 5 23 6 Hakoah Sydney City East FC 15 7 2 6 18 20 -2 23 7 Wollongong Wolves FC 15 6 2 7 16 20 -4 20 8 APIA Leichhardt Tigers FC 15 5 0 10 18 25 -7 15 9 Sydney United 58 FC 15 4 2 9 14 26 -12 14 10 Sutherland Sharks FC 15 3 4 8 16 19 -3 13 11 Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC 14 2 2 10 17 37 -20 8 12 Sydney Olympic FC 15 2 2 11 12 34 -22 8 12 NPLNSW.COM.AU CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP CLUB PLAYED U18'S U20'S 1ST TOTAL Blacktown City FC 42 36 56 96 188 APIA Leichhardt Tigers FC 45 15 32 116 163 Sydney Olympic FC 45 8 20 132 160 Hakoah Sydney City East FC 45 23 50 76 149 Wollongong Wolves FC 45 20 52 76 148 Sydney United 58 FC 45 14 38 92 144 Sutherland Sharks FC 45 13 62 68 143 Marconi Stallions FC 45 23 34 80 137 Rockdale City Suns FC 45 31 26 80 137 Manly United FC 45 27 38 68 133 Sydney FC 45 37 58 36 131 Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC 42 8 38 72 118 CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP RANKING Football NSW will use the following process when ranking the Clubs within each Competition: NPL NSW Men’s, NPL 2 NSW Men’s, NPL 3 NSW
