Olympic were also forced to share the spoils as they failed to kill off a 10-man APIA Leichhardt side in a 1-1 draw in Round 13.

Manly Captain Brendan Cholakian was one player missing his shooting boots in round 13 but he will be fired up to lead his side to victory this time around. Cholakian is one of Manly’s most dynamic players and he has the return of Scott Balderson to help share the load in attack.

Sydney Olympic striker Alejandro Sanchez has been an incredible addition to the side this season, but last week was one to forget for the Spaniard.

Manly United 0 – Hakoah Sydney City East 0 at Cromer Park Manly United and Hakoah Sydney City East played out a tight 0-0 draw at Cromer Park on Saturday night. In a match which seemed destined for stalemate, clear cut chances were far and few between. The hosts will feel hard done by after maintaining the majority of second half possession, but often failing with their final pass. However if it were not for a couple of outstanding stops from Shaun Catlin, it may well have been Hakoah who travelled home with all three points. Now sitting narrowly outside of the all-important top five, both teams will be looking to recapture their form in front of goal and return to the winner’s circle next week.

Sydney Olympic 1 – APIA Leichhardt Tigers 1 at Belmore Sportsground A last gasp Nathan Millgate header has helped a 10-man APIA Leichhardt Tigers snatch a 1-1 daw against Sydney Olympic at Belmore Sportsground on Sunday. It was a heartbreaking result for Sydney Olympic who dominated the majority of the match and should’ve taken a six point lead at the top of the National Premier Leagues NSW competition ladder. Jinya An gave the home side the lead in the 35th minute with a cool finish from inside the penalty area after a scrap for possession from a looping corner kick. APIA were determined to fight back but were reduced to 10-men when Brandon Lundy was shown a second yellow and sent off in the 68th minute. However, the visitors would find the equaliser they were ever so desperate for as Millgate jumped above two markers to nod home the equaliser. The result means Olympic stay at the top of the competition with a three point lead over the second placed Tigers.

anly United will be looking to continue Anthony Harb’s men will be determined to Mtheir improving recent form against resuscitate their campaign with nine rounds Sydney Olympic when they pair clash at Cromer remaining, and they should be boosted by Park on Saturday. the fact they’ve done it before. Olympic were struggling on the competition ladder as Adam Griffith’s side moved into ninth position late as round 18 in 2016 – before going on a following a 4-1 win over Hakoah Sydney City sensational late season run to eventually claim East last weekend, a result that saw Mitchell the championship with a win over Manly. Rooke claim a hattrick and comfortably stands out as the side’s strongest result so far this campaign. Manly have won three of their last five heading into the contest and although the side are eight points away from fifth position, the potential the Cromer Park outfit has shown over the past month should instill enough confidence in which to mount a serious assault on the finals positions. They’ll need to start with the visit of Olympic this Saturday however, and avoid complacency against the league’s bottom club. The Blues are currently four points adrift at the bottom after last weekend’s 0-0 draw with APIA Leichhardt Tigers but have offered up their fair share of promising performances in recent months, including draws with Sydney Olympic and Wollongong and a famous defeat of Sutherland Sharks.
