CLUB WELCOME
arconi Stallions have had a great start
Mto the 2018 season, so far undefeated, and will be focused on taking three points when they face APIA Leichhardt Tigers FC. With APIA also currently undefeated, the crowd will
definitely have an entertaining night ahead of
them. was victim of a heavy clash against Sydney
United FC in Round 1 which saw him miss the
second round against Bonnyrigg. No doubt Sean will be eager to get back out on the pitch and help his team walk away with the three points.
Marconi and APIA Leichhardt Tigers share plenty of history and Saturday’s clash will be yet another great chapter for these proud clubs.
Marconi have had one win, and one draw this season, and are looking forward to the return
of their firepower upfront Sean Rooney. Sean

MATCH PREVIEW
ith a win and a draw to their name from
Wthe opening two games, Marconi Stallions are sure to be impressed with their return to
the National Premier Leagues NSW top flight.
New singing George Howard scored his first
goal for his new club last round while the combination of Sean Symons and Jordan Murray continue to develop into one of the leagues most fearsome partnerships.
This round they face arguably their biggest test yet in 2017 Premiership winners APIA Leichhardt Tigers.
Both sides posses talent shot stoppers in Nenad Vekic and Ivan Necevski with both likely to be in for a busy evening.
Fast starts have been the cornerstone of the Stallions matches so far with the side scoring in the opening six minutes in consecutive weeks.
These clubs have shared many historic clashes over the years and Saturday nights could very well be another to add to the history books.
Experienced campaigners Sean Rooney and Marko Jesic make for a prolific pairing while
Asian Champions League winner Mateo Poljak’s
ability to pull the strings in midfield has proven
valuable. APIA’s high powered attack has hit the ground
running in 2018 with four goals in their first two
games.

MATCH REVIEWS
Bonnyrigg White Eagles 1 – Marconi Stallions1 at Bonnyrigg Sports Club
Bonnyrigg White Eagles have fought back to
clinch their first point of the National Premier
Leagues NSW 2018 season after a 1-1 draw with Marconi Stallions at Bonnyrigg Sports Club on Sunday night.
A Jewook Woo strike on the cusp of halftime ensured Brian Brown’s side avoided a second straight defeat after Marko Jesic gave Marconi the lead from the penalty spot only six minutes into the match.
Unlike their first round victory, Marconi’s early
advantage wasn’t enough to make it two wins from as many games as Bonnyrigg found their form in the later stages of the clash.
Bonnyrigg will be disappointed to have not found a winner after a dominant second 45 minutes but late heroics from Marconi’s shot stopper
Nenad Vekic kept the scoreline locked at the final
whistle.
APIA Leichhardt Tigers 2 v – Sydney Olympic FC 0 at Lambert Park
APIA Leichhardt has continued it’s flawless start
to the season with a 2-0 win against Sydney Olympic at Lambert Park on Sunday.
A first half George Howard penalty broke the
deadlock and Sean Symons doubled the score in the second stanza as the home side claimed all
three points despite stifling heat against a tough Sydney Olympic outfit.
The win was APIA’s first home win of the season
and builds on their opening round victory against Manly United.
For Sydney Olympic the result was a reality check after their opening week win but coach Abbas Saad will be able to take away plenty of positives from a performance which could’ve been very
different if his side had more luck in front of goal.

U20’S MATCH PREVIEW
PIA Leichhardt Tigers are set to get their
A2018 campaign underway when they travel to Marconi Stadium to take on Marconi in
Saturday’s final fixture. Last season’s grand finalists have missed the
opening two rounds due to their Viareggio tour in which APIA faced development squads from the likes of Inter Milan and Parma but Franco Consentino’s side will now turn their attention to Marconi on Saturday.
Marconi have enjoyed a week’s rest after the
cancellation of their round two fixture against
Bonnyrigg following their narrow round one defeat to Sydney United 58.
Former Sydney Olympic attacker Luca Kmet could be one for Marconi to watch out for after the APIA man impressed in Italy while the Tigers defence will need to keep a close eye on Stallions striker Brandon Stojcevski who found the net against United 58 in round one.
