(Sahih of Muslim) ( iv) www.pathagar.com "In my optmon the best course of action for the Government is to declare the Ahmadis a separate reli gious group. This will be just in accordance with their own policy. The Muslims will offer them the same toleration as they do to the followers of other religions.'' (Dr. Mohammad Iqbal : Harf-e-lqbal, p. 118, Lahore) "The Muslim •Ummah' has every right to demand separation of Ahmadis from the Muslims. If the Gover nment does not accept this demand, the Muslims will be justified in this apprehension that the Government is deliberately delaying the separation of this new religion. In 1919, the Government had hastened to announce the separation of the SIKHS from the Hindus. Why must the Government delay decision in the case of the Ahmadist (HARF-E-IOBAL) Dr. Sir Mohammad Iqbal said. ( v) www.pathagar.com ••The promised Messi2h (i.e. Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani) claims that he is one ordained of Allah, and that Allah speaks to him. This claim proves either of the two situations. Either he is false in his claim and that he is inventing a false hood against Allah, or he is true in his claim of prophethood and Allah really speaks to him. In the former case, he should not only be labelled as a KAFIR {infidel) but a KAFIR of the worst kind. And in the latter case, all of his deniers should be called Kafirs. Now you are free to make any one of the two choices, either you stick to the belief that all those who deny Mirza Ghulam Ahmad are true Muslims, and that the Promised Messiah (i.e. Mirza Ghulam Ahmad) was an infidel, or you believe him to be the Promised Messiah, and a pious or truthful man. In that case all those who deny him should be considered Kafirs.'' Both of them can not be called Muslims at the same time. Kalimatul Fasl, By Mirza Bashir Ahmad cited in Review of Religions. The Oadianis or the followers of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Oadian have been presenting themselves as Muslims or as a sect of Muslims to the world for a considerably long time. The Ulema (scholars) and the doctors of Islam from all the sects of Muslims met the challenge and declared them non-Muslims quite early in this century when Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Oadian made his claim to prophethood, plenty of valuable literature came into existence on the subject which effectively refuted all the arguments presented by the Oadianis, and, in addition, disclosed their secret political and social relations with anti-Islamic forces of the world. As the Oadianis were not officially declared a separate Com munity by the Government. they took advantage of using the cover of Islam for preaching their false beliefs to the people of African and European countries. They also succeeded in maintaining their missions in various countries through some of their agents possessing ministerial ranks in the Government of Pakistan, thus endangering the political stability of Pakistan on the one hand and converting the people to Qadianism in the name of Islam, on the other. ( xii ) www.pathagar.com Various anti-Qadianis movements were launched by the people of Pakistan to get them officially declared a separate religion but they could not achieve their object owing to so many political reasons. At last the recent movement of 1973 produced positive results.

  • Founding of the Ahmadiyya Anjuman Isha`At Islam Lahore: Centenary Talk
www.ahmadiyya.org/cont-ahm.htm Founding of the Ahmadiyya Anjuman Isha‘at Islam Lahore, March – May 1914 Main points from a Talk by Dr Zahid Aziz at Darus Salaam, Wembley, U.K. on 2nd March 2014 to commemorate the centenary of its establishment 1. Muslim spiritual orders founded by saints existed all over the Indian subcontinent, long before the Ahmadiyya Movement. Usually these were centred around the tomb of the saint. Three flaws had developed in previous movements and sects: a. The headship and control of the movements had passed into the hands of the descendants of the saints. These descendants were capitalising on the repute of the saint to receive homage from the public as well as donations which they used for personal ends. b. These heads of spiritual orders were revered and regarded as holy by their followers because of their descent. They took people into their discipleship and the disciples obeyed them unquestioningly, looking upon them as the gateway to God. c. Leaders of various sects denounced other sects as unbelievers. 2. Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad set up a system of running the Ahmadiyya movement after him which avoided these pitfalls. 3. Two and a half years before his death he published his Will in December 1905 and laid down how the movement would be run after him. a. Instead of one spiritual leader who would have all members as his personal disciples, he wrote that after him any forty Ahmadis could choose a venerable person from among them as being fit and suitable to bring newcomers into the Movement by taking bai’at from them in the name of Hazrat Mirza sahib.

Malaysian Journal of International Relations, Volume 6, 2018, 35-46 ISSN 2289-5043 (Print); ISSN 2600-8181 (Online) AHMADIYYA: GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF A PERSECUTED COMMUNITY Abdul Rashid Moten ABSTRACT Ahmadiyya, a group, founded in 19th century India, has suffered fierce persecution in various parts of the Muslim world where governments have declared them to be non-Muslims. Despite opposition from mainstream Muslims, the movement continued its proselytising efforts and currently boasts millions of followers worldwide. Based on the documentary sources and other scholarly writings, this paper judges the claims made by the movement's founder, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, analyses the consequences of the claims, and examines their proselytizing strategies. This paper found that the claims made by Mirza were not in accordance with the belief of mainstream Muslims, which led to their persecution. The reasons for their success in recruiting millions of members worldwide is to be found in their philanthropic activities, avoidance of violence and pursuit of peace inherent in their doctrine of jihad, exerting in the way of God, not by the sword but by the pen. Keywords: Ahmadiyya, jihad, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, Pakistan, philanthropy INTRODUCTION The Qur’an categorically mentions that Muhammad is the last in the line of the Prophets and that no prophet will follow him. Yet, there arose several individuals who claimed prophethood in Islam. Among the first to claim Prophecy was Musailama al-Kazzab, followed by many others including Mirza Hussein Ali Nuri who took the name Bahaullah (glory of God) and formed a new religion, the Bahai faith. Many false prophets continued to raise their heads occasionally but failed to make much impact until the ascendance of the non-Muslim intellectual, economic and political forces particularly in the 19th century A.D.

  • Pakistan's Army
Pakistan’s Army: New Chief, traditional institutional interests Introduction A year after speculation about the names of those in the race for selection as the new Army Chief of Pakistan began, General Qamar Bajwa eventually took charge as Pakistan's 16th Chief of Army Staff on 29th of November 2016, succeeding General Raheel Sharif. Ordinarily, such appointments in the defence services of countries do not generate much attention, but the opposite holds true for Pakistan. Why this is so is evident from the popular aphorism, "while every country has an army, the Pakistani Army has a country". In Pakistan, the army has a history of overshadowing political landscape - the democratically elected civilian government in reality has very limited authority or control over critical matters of national importance such as foreign policy and security. A historical background The military in Pakistan is not merely a human resource to guard the country against the enemy but has political wallop and opinions. To know more about the power that the army enjoys in Pakistan, it is necessary to examine the times when Pakistan came into existence in 1947. In 1947, both India and Pakistan were carved out of the British Empire. India became a democracy whereas Pakistan witnessed several military rulers and still continues to suffer from a severe civil- military imbalance even after 70 years of its birth. During India’s war of Independence, the British primarily recruited people from the Northwest of undivided India which post partition became Pakistan. It is noteworthy that the majority of the people recruited in the Pakistan Army during that period were from the Punjab martial races.
