Ao longo do trabalho, vamos abordar as principais dificuldades enfrentadas por atletas, fãs e promotores de eventos da modalidade no país, bem como sugerir novas idéias que poderão contribuir para a popularização do esporte no Brasil. Além disso, este trabalho também busca mostrar como o MMA pode ser um campo importante para o jornalismo esportivo, já que está em crescimento e pode gerar mais empregos para o profissional da área. Para a coleta de dados, foram realizadas pesquisas qualitativas e quantitativas com atletas, fãs e promotor de eventos, a fim de identificar as carências de cada um deles no universo do MMA brasileiro. Palavras-chave: MMA, Brasil, Jornalismo Esportivo. Abstract: This article proposes the discussion about the growth and the problems in the Brazilian Mixed Martial Arts, the MMA. In this work, we will discuss the main difficulties that the athletes, fans and those who promote the sport’s events in the country must deal with, as well as suggest new ideas that can contribute to the popularization of Mixed Martial Arts in Brazil. Besides, this article tries to show that the MMA may be important to sports journalism, since the sport’s growth can generate new jobs for professionals of the field. Quando decidimos fazer esta matéria pensamos em criar uma tabela de pontuação para as principais virtudes de um treinador diferenciado como: capacidade de gerenciar talentos, visão tática da luta, percentual de vitórias de seus atletas, cinturões conquistados, importância na formação do atleta. Mas com tantos critérios subjetivos em questão, decidimos que a melhor maneira de chegar a uma conclusão objetiva seria perguntando aos maiores especialistas do esporte. Lutadores, treinadores e Jornalistas do mundo inteiro, que por conhecerem a fundo o MMA, tem maneiras diferentes de avaliar estas qualidades. Depois de quase um mês coletando votos de 110 profissionais do mundo todo, finalmente chegamos a um vencedor, o líder da Nova União, André Pederneiras, com 23 votos, acompanhado de perto por Rafael Cordeiro (Kings MMA), com 21 e Greg Jackson, com 16. Nas páginas a seguir você poderá verificar a tabela de votos e entender melhor o porquê estes três treinadores foram os mais votados.
