Hayden Dance Presents The Show Must Go On!

The recital is almost here!! Please read this packet thoroughly, it should answer all of your questions. If not, please reach out to us! We hope you’re getting as excited as we are! PLEASE NOTE PROCEDURES MAY CHANGE DUE TO CHANGING GUIDELINES AND PROTOCOLS.

DATES: Last Day of Classes The week ending Friday, June 4th (NO class on May 31st)

Dress Rehearsal Saturday, June 5th at Hayden Recreation 2:30 – 6:15PM *See attachment for specific times for each class

Dance Recital 2021 Sunday, June 6th at Hayden Recreation 1st show 11:00AM 2nd show 12:45PM *See attachment to determine which show your child’s class is performing

COSTUMES: You will receive a list of items that your dancer will need to supply for the recital. When you receive your costumes, you will also get information on any specific hair, makeup and any accessories given. Costumes will be handed out before the last week of class.

VIEWING: Each family will be allowed to have 3 family members attend the show. This year’s recital will be held OUTDOORS in the Hayden Parking Lot. The lot will have seating pods, each 6 feet apart, marked in the lot. Families will set up their chairs, blanket, whatever type of seating you choose, in their pods for the duration of their assigned show. At the end of your child’s show, you will be asked to vacate your pod so we can prepare for the next show. AT THIS TIME MASKS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES WHILE ON HAYDEN PROPERTY.

DRESS REHEARSAL: Dress Rehearsal will be held in the parking lot at Hayden Recreation. THERE WILL BE NO PARKING IN THE HAYDEN LOT. CARS WILL PARK AT THE HAYDEN ICE FACILITY. We ask that students arrive on time and ready to dance with costumes, hair and makeup ready. Only one parent per family will be allowed to arrive and stay with their child/children until they are called onstage. We ask that dancers arrive outside the Hayden main entrance 5 minutes before their scheduled rehearsal time. Once your child’s class has finished their routine, we ask that you leave the site. This is necessary for us to continue to meet current COVID guidelines. We appreciate your cooperation! THERE WILL BE NO PARKING IN THE HAYDEN LOT. CARS WILL PARK AT THE HAYDEN ICE FACILITY.

**Dress Rehearsal is mandatory so that the children are able to get used to being onstage. Please let us know of any conflicts ASAP.

At the end of each dance we will ask dancers to stay in a pose on stage for photos, so have your cameras ready!

DANCE RECITAL 2021: We will be having two separate sessions to our recital this year. It will be held at the Hayden Centre in our parking lot on Sunday, June 6th. The first show will begin at 11:00AM and the second show will begin at 12:45PM. Dancers must arrive in full hair and make-up with their costume on. If they are in multiple dances please look at the recital order to see which dance is first and arrive in that costume with others packed nicely in one bag. Please have your child remove all jewelry and accessories- only accessories that are included with ones’ costume should be worn.

If your child is in the 11:00AM session, dancers in grades 5 and under must arrive outside the Hayden main entrance at 10:30am. Dancers in grades 6 and up must arrive at 10:00am. If your child is in the 12:45PM session, all dancers must arrive outside the main entrance at Hayden at 12:15. A staff member will be there to direct you and your dancer to the next step.

THERE WILL BE NO PARKING IN THE HAYDEN LOT. CARS MAY PARK AT THE HAYDEN ICE FACILITY.

Seating pods are first, come first served. We ask that all cell phones and electronic devices be turned off during the duration of the show as they can be distracting to other audience members and performers. Only non-flash photography will be permitted. The show will be professionally recorded; order forms will be e-mailed out and available the day of the show.

At Hayden we feel very strongly that dance is a fun, healthy activity that promotes confidence and self-esteem and encourages freedom of expression through movement. While we are preparing for the show we are encouraging students to learn their routines to the best of their ability so that they will feel confident on stage. The most important thing is that our dancers try their best, smile and have fun! Please reinforce this with your child so that they will be a relaxed and happy performer.
