During an Auslan interpreted performance, an interpreter stands in a clearly visible location to the audience, and interprets the spoken word and sound effects for Deaf patrons who require Auslan. Open House is generously supported by The Balnaves Foundation. Tix for Next to Nix We want the Adelaide Festival to be for everyone, and are seeking out community groups and individuals who would love to experience the Festival but just cannot afford it. In 2020, with the help of The Balnaves Foundation, we are offering 1000 Tix For Next To Nix across a selection of Festival events for just $5 each. These tickets will be available in advance of the performance for those with a current Pension or Healthcare Card. Register your or your community group's interest in Tix For Next To Nix at adelaidefestival.com.au/open-house 15 Pay What You Can Pay What You Can tickets are made available by the Festival for low income earners who cannot otherwise afford to attend. These tickets are available at the box office one hour before the show and are subject to availability. Eligible patrons can present a current Healthcare card, pension card or full time student card to access a Pay What You Can ticket via donation of an amount chosen by the patron based on what they can afford. In 2020, Buŋgul, Cold Blood, Breaking the Waves, Enter Achilles, Lyon Opera Ballet - Trois Grandes Fugues, Mouthpiece & Two Crews will have Pay What You Can tickets available at a date and time to be confirmed. Other shows may also become available. All performance times for Pay What You Can tickets will be published on the Festival website from 28 January 2020.

    MEDIA RELEASE Visual Art – AUS, BEL, DEN, FRA, GER, HUN, JPN, NED, NOR, NZ, UK, USA Exclusive Australian Premiere Festival laser-focused on Blinc with five days to go Over 250,000 people are expected to flood the riverbank precinct over 17 nights starting this Friday (27 Feb) for Adelaide Festival’s giant outdoor digital art gallery Blinc. Blinc is the signature FREE event of the 2015 Adelaide Festival of Arts which also features 42 of the best international art events from around the globe. The festival is on track to generate a similar result to the 2014 event’s $64.3 million in total estimated gross expenditure and economic impact to the state of $25.3 million. Opening Night celebrations begin with drinks available at Blinc Bar from 4pm, then a massive Fork on the Road food truck muster featuring 26 vendors from 5pm. The illumination of Blinc at 9pm is followed by a fireworks spectacular. Blinc is city’s largest FREE event across the entire festival season. Festival goers have the chance to win weekly prizes by tagging their Blinc pictures on social media with the hashtags #AdlFest and #BendigoBlinc. Blinc involves a dozen outdoor locations featuring large-scale projections, building-mapped projects, 3D motion graphics, LED installations, intimate and interactive experiences and a unique 30 watt laser work.     2017/ 1 8 Activity Report In December 2015, Adelaide was designated a City of Music by the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN). The UCCN was created in 2004 to promote cooperation with, and among, cities that have identified creativity as a strategic factor for sustainable urban development. The 180 cities which currently make up this worldwide network work together towards a common objective: placing creativity and cultural industries at the heart of their development plans at a local level, and cooperating actively at an international level.
