TOURISM BOOTCAMP IN TAMAN NEGARA TO PROMOTE GREEN AND CLEAN MALAYSIA

A fun three-day and two-night Green & Clean Tourism Boot Camp is being organized by the Ministry of Tourism and AMP Radio Networks (AMP) to promote the country’s abundance of natural beauty as well as to boost awareness on the importance of preserving our environment. The programme, one of the main events driving the Ministry of Tourism’s 1Malaysia Green 1Malaysia Clean campaign, will be conducted at Taman Negara from 19 to 21 November 2010.

About 54 participants have been identified to make up the nine teams, consisting of radio listeners of the nine AMP radio networks, namely ERA fm, MY FM, hitz.fm, MIX fm, LiteFM, SINAR fm, XFM, THR Raaga & THR Gegar, radio personalitie, media representatives and officers from Tourism Malaysia. The listeners were chosen to take part in the boot camp based on their suggestions to save the environment.

During the boot camp, all nine groups will be required to shoot video documentaries of the park’s captivating wonders and propose improvements along the way. The participants will also have the opportunity to satisfy their “wild instincts” with the Night Jungle Walk, Canopy Walkway and many more exhilarating activities. Accommodation for participants is sponsored by Mutiara Taman Negara Pahang. After the trip, each group will upload their respective video blogs of their experiences at www.greenandclean.com.my where they can be viewed by the

public. The team with the best video will win the grand prize of wellness packages from The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat worth RM2,200.
