As exciting as the prospect of a car that drives itself is, there are two separate introductions to the consumer market. The first being robotaxis, driven in limited, well-defined, urban, geo-fenced areas, and the second being personal ownership, which are able to be driven anywhere, in any condition. Craig Allen, President, U.S.-China Business Council Craig Allen has served since July 2018 as the sixth President of the United States-China Business Council (USCBC), a private, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization representing over 200 American companies doing business with China. Prior to joining USCBC, Allen had a long, distinguished career in US public service. Following more than two decades of service as a trade representative and diplomat for the Departments of Commerce and State, including many years in east Asia, Allen was named U.S. ambassador to Brunei in 2014, serving two different presidents before leaving his post in 2018 to take his current position in Washington, D.C.

Leslie J. Allen, Mobility Editor, Automotive News Leslie J. Allen is managing editor and executive producer for Automotive News TV. Leslie joined Automotive News in 2006. She is a former auto editor at the Detroit Free Press, and also edited the automotive section, as well as the "Monday Business" section, at the Philadelphia Inquirer, while serving as associate business editor. Leslie began covering the car industry as a business reporter for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Carla Bailo, President and CEO, Center for Automotive Research Carla Bailo is the President and CEO of the Center for Automotive Research (CAR), and is a leader in engineering and vehicle program management with 35 years of experience in the automotive industry. Hilary M. Cain, Director of Technology and Innovation Policy, Toyota Hilary M. Cain is Director of Technology and Innovation Policy for Toyota. In this position, Hilary leads policy development and advocacy on issues relating to connected and automated vehicle technology. This includes matters relating to consumer data privacy. Prior to joining Toyota in 2012, Cain served as Staff Director of the Technology and Innovation Subcommittee on the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, and had responsibility for legislative and policy matters relating to competitiveness, technology, standards, and innovation. Before joining the Committee, Hilary served as Legislative Director and Ways and Means Counsel for individual Members of Congress.

Dr. John L. Campbell, Senior Managing Scientist, Exponent Dr. John L. Campbell has over 30 years of experience examining issues related to human performance, human factors, driver behavior, roadway safety, and the contributing factors to roadway crashes. He has evaluated human factors aspects of traffic safety, the capabilities and limitations of road users, and the relative contributions of vehicle, infrastructure, and user factors in roadway crashes. His scientific expertise includes the design of advanced driver-vehicle interfaces, including: head-up displays, night/ driver vision, collision warning, navigation, speech recognition, driver monitoring systems, advanced input devices, and interfaces for connected and automated vehicles. 12 | 2020 MobilityTalks International

William J. Cariss, President and CEO, Holman Strategic Ventures William J. Cariss currently serves as President and CEO of Holman Strategic Ventures, and Chief Strategy Officer for Holman Enterprises. His role focuses on evaluating and implementing strategy, leading corporate development, and identifying future investment opportunities across all Holman business segments. In the beginning of 2017, Mr. Cariss developed the Holman Strategic Ventures Group. Richard Damm, Working Party on Automated/Autonomous and Connected Vehicles Chairman, United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Richard Damm is an experienced transportation official and engineer with a long history of service in the German government. Damm currently heads the Road Vehicles Division of the Federal Motor Transport Authority, and was recently selected to lead the entire Transport Authority, effective at the end of January. Prior to entering government service in 2003, Damm worked for BMW and the Bavarian Red Cross. A mechanical engineer by education, he studied at the Technical University of Munich.

Eric Danko, Head of Federal Affairs, Cruise Eric Danko leads the public affairs team at Cruise, General Motors' self-driving vehicles unit, where he is responsible for developing and managing market entry campaigns to build political support and gain regulatory certainty. In addition, he oversees stakeholder engagement and activation, coalition building, federal presence, and Cruise political activities at the city, state, and federal level. He joined Cruise in 2018, after working in government affairs for Securing America’s Future Energy, where he worked extensively with Members of Congress, congressional staff and industry stakeholders, and was responsible for building and managing SAFE coalition activities.

Jordan Davis, Director, SmartCities Columbus Partnership Jordan Davis is the Director of Smart Columbus for the Columbus Partnership, leading strategy and public- private partnerships for the Central Ohio region’s $550 million smart cities initiative. She was instrumental in Columbus, becoming the sole winner of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Smart Cities Challenge in 2016, and since has managed the upstart of a new joint venture for the region focused on realizing a connected, autonomous, shared, and electric transportation ecosystem that improves people’s lives. Jordan oversees an aggressive electric vehicle adoption program, shared mobility growth plan, autonomous vehicle deployment, and a dynamic corporate engagement portfolio.

Robbie Diamond, President and CEO, Securing America’s Future Energy Robbie Diamond is the Founder, President and CEO of Securing America’s Future Energy (SAFE). In 2006, he came together with Frederick W. Smith, Chairman, President, and CEO of FedEx Corporation, and General P.X. Kelley, USMC (Ret.), 28th Commandant of the Marine Corps, to form SAFE’s Energy Security Leadership Council, a group of prominent business leaders and retired senior military officers dedicated to combating the nation’s dangerous dependence on oil.

Gretchen Effgen, Vice President of Global Partnerships, Aptiv Gretchen Effgen joined Aptiv via the acquisition of nuTonomy, the leading software developer for self- driving cars. She serves on the Board of Directors of CivicSmart, where she fulfilled an interim role on mobility services. Gretchen convened the Boston Mobility Roundtable in 2016 and is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Cities and Urbanization. A former Zipcar executive, Gretchen executed the company’s strategic partnership initiatives with Ford, Honda, Toyota, Google and more. Anthony Frangiosa, President and CEO, InstallerNet Anthony Frangiosa leads InstallerNet as the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Frangiosa has more than 25 years of experience in the mobile electronics industry. He has worked for Audiovox, owned and operated a successful car stereo store, was the Executive Vice President of Sound, where he was in charge of architecting the technology of the company’s successful software products, and was the co-founder, President, and Chief Information Officer of MobileToys. Ian Grossman, Vice President of Member Services and Public Affairs, American Association of Automobile Administrators Ian Grossman is a seasoned communication, policy, and association management professional with experiences in both the public and private sectors. Currently, Ian is the Vice President of the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators, where he is responsible for the Association’s driver, vehicle, and law enforcement programs that support safety and security throughout North America. He also leads the association’s strategic communications and government affairs efforts, providing members thought leadership on public policy and outreach.

Anne-Marie Idrac, High Representative for the Development of Autonomous Vehicles, Government of the French Republic Anne-Marie Idrac is a French politician currently serving as High Representative to the French government, focusing on the country’s autonomous vehicle development. She is former Minister of State for Transport and former Minister of State for Foreign Trade. She is also former Chairwoman and CEO of the Parisian public transportation company, RATP, and of the French national railways, SNCF. Idrac is a Commandeur in the French Ordre du Mérite, and an Officer in the Ordre de la Légion d'Honneur, and also represented Yvelines’ rd3 Constituency for five years in the French National Assembly.

Ms. Jill Ingrassia, Executive Director of Advocacy and Communications, AAA As Managing Director of AAA’s Government Relations and Traffic Safety Advocacy department, Jill Ingrassia directs federal and state government relations and traffic safety advocacy, policy and programs for 40 plus AAA-clubs federation. She manages a staff of policy and public health professionals and oversees the development and implementation of public policy strategy of concern to AAA members and AAA business operations, including mobility and transportation safety, energy, and consumer automotive.

Kent Keyser, Public Policy Fellow, United Spinal Association Prior to coming to United Spinal, Kent had a thirty-seven year career working for Rep. Nick Rahall II (D-W.Va.), starting in the congressman’s office as a summer intern and eventually serving as chief of staff in Rahall’s Washington office. Keyser’s experience working on behalf of Rahall’s constituents in southern West Virginia instilled in him a strong commitment to constituents, one that he has put to work advocating for United Spinal’s legislative agenda. Keyser is a graduate of Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va.

Michelle Krebs, Executive Analyst, AutoTrader Michelle Krebs is senior director of automotive relations for Cox Automotive and executive analyst for Autotrader, based in Detroit. An award-winning automotive writer, Krebs is a frequent guest on CNBC, FOX and other news programs. She provided expert commentary in the award-winning documentary, “The Revenge of the Electric Car.” Before joining Cox Automotive, Krebs was a senior analyst and editor for Edmunds.com. Mary E. Lovely, Senior Fellow, Peterson Institute for International Economics Mary E. Lovely is a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute and a professor of economics and Melvin A. Jeff Marootian, Director, District of Columbia Department of Transportation Jeff Marootian is the Director of the District Department of Transportation where he leads the 1100-employee agency in its mission to create a safe and sustainable transportation system for the District of Columbia. Marootian is responsible for delivering on Mayor Bowser's priorities to rebuild and modernize the city's public infrastructure; embrace innovation and technology to increase mobility options; and reduce traffic fatalities and serious injuries through a concerted Vision Zero strategy. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, the Northeast Corridor Commission, and the Intelligent Transportation Society of America. Glenn Mercer, Owner, GM Automotive Glenn Mercer has three decades of experience as an automotive industry analyst, including over 20 years at McKinsey & Co., where, as a leader of the automotive practice, he participated in hundreds of client studies. Eric Meyhofer, Head of Advanced Technologies Group, Uber Eric Meyhofer is the Head of Uber's Advanced Technologies Group (ATG). Eric spent 11 years at Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute as a Special Faculty member with a focus on commercializing technology. Meyhofer has founded several companies spanning various robotics fields, from 3D mapping of underground mines (Mine Vision Systems Inc.) to companies that use high-powered lasers to autonomously de-coat F-16 fighter jets (Titan Robotics Inc.).
