Due to pollutants such as heavy metals, PCBs and dioxins you may prefer to take these oils as a supplement as some manufactures are able to remove these toxins without destroying the molecular structure of the oils. To energise the home and personal relationships with potent chi why not try your hand at a Feng Shui flower arrangement this summer?

Yin fire is an energy that highlights romantic gestures by opening the heart and stimulating the mind - by placing a Feng Shui arrangement in the southwest you will be consciously adding favourable chi into a receptive area that will respond by rewarding you with an activated aspiration with maximum benefit.

To make the most of your arrangement it is imperative that you have materials that reflect the values of a relationship – otherwise the arrangement will lose the majority of its Feng Shui appeal. Therefore choose colours and shapes that have feminine and masculine principals, such as a pink or red flower to represent the male/yang energy that compliment the small white flowers of the gypsophila (in our example) which represent the yin/female principle. This principle is extended to the choice in foliage, with the bark and hard wood of the branch representing the male/yang chi while the dark green round leaves of the base create balance and harmony by providing the yin/female principle. Remember fire is an element that requires fuel to maintain its energy levels and so, needs the wood element – leaves and branches should be encouraged to fully maximise this aspiration.

Other suitable flowers to use include the rose, for its obvious association to romance, although you must remove the thorns before arranging. Otherwise try flowers that are more exotic and sensual such as orchid (yin) and anthurium (yang), or Strelitzia (yang) with Protea (yin) – favourable colour combinations to try include using flowers that are shades of red or burnt orange with pale pink and buttery yellow or deep purple with some touches of white or pale to provide contrast and balance.
