The 2019/2020 summer racing carnival race dates have changed significantly this year with the redevelopment of the Hobart track transferring many feature races to Launceston. Racing returns to Ladbrokes Park Elwick on Friday 31st January with this meeting not only showcasing the new track but also the 3YO $150k Listed Tasmanian . Feature races affected by the Hobart redevelopment during this time will revert to Launceston on the grass, with the Listed $100k Tasmanian Stakes, Listed $100k Tasmanian Guineas, $30k Brighton Cup, $30k Winzenburg, $30k 3YO Vase, $30k Alexandra Plate, $50k Sky Stakes and Listed $100k Elwick Stakes all rescheduled throughout this carnival. Hobart Cup Day on Sunday February 9th headlines not only the Group 3 $250k Hobart Cup but other feature events such as, the $100k Listed Thomas Lyons, $100k Listed Strutt Stakes for 3YO Fillies and the Group 3 $150k Bow Mistress for Fillies and Mares. This showcases a fantastic day of racing. Throughout this grid Tasracing has rescheduled feature events to coincide with dates and venues to give all horses a clear path of progression. Benchmarks which were previously raised in rating and weight will continue throughout the December to March grid. Magic Millions remains on Oaks Day, Sunday 23rd February, with the meeting set to be run in a twilight timeslot.
