Wood also has many other environmental benefits: renewability and sustainability, biological degradability and recyclability. Its technological properties are also applauding, making it versatile for a quite range of end uses: high strengths compared to its weight, good shock resistance, attractive grain patterns and colors and insulating properties. Despite these approving properties, it also has some shortcomings: limited durability, dimensional instability, performance problems, and heterogeneity of properties within the same tree.
