The parish, for parochial purposes, is divided into two parts, called Llan­ rhidian Lower, with the hamlets of Walterstone and Kilibion, and Llanrhidian Higher, which includes the district of . A branch line of railway from the Gower­ road station of the Llanelly Extension Rail way to Swansea is just opened for mineral traffic, and expected shortly to be opened for passengers. It is about three miles in length ; the terminus is near the copper works and Penclawydd Colliery and Dock.
