3. Rules General ・ All games are carried with JKA rule defined in the Judge Regulation. ・ Foul plays and violations shall be even more strictly regulated in Tournament . ・ Each country can register 1 manager and up to 8 coaches. ・ Only the registered manager can make protests against the judge’s decision. ・ Every contestant must wear a white Karate-gi with the name/emblem of one’s own country on the left chest. ・ ID card is required to enter the court area.

Individual Kata children and cadets (boy’s and girl’s of all age group) Preliminary matches (until the best 8) The FLAG SYSTEM is applied, and those are : Heian Shodan, Nidan, Sandan, Yondan, Godan and Tekki Shodan

Final matches

2 The POINT SYSTEM is applied, and those katas are : Bassai-dai, Kanku-dai, Jion, Empi, Jitte, and Gankaku

Individual Kata veterans (men and women) Preliminary matches (until the best 16) The FLAG SYSTEM is applied, and those katas are: Heian Shodan, Nidan, Sandan, Yondan, Godan and Tekki Shodan

Semifinal matches (until the best 8)

The POINT SYSTEM is applied, and those katas are: Bassai-dai, Kanku-dai, Jion, Empi, Jitte, Hangetsu and Gankaku

Final matches The POINT SYSTEM is applied, and those katas are : JKA kata

Tiebreak Rule For Kata Matches In the case of a tie, the relevant contestants must engage in an extra match (Sai-shiai) with the same Kata. Even if the extra match ends in a tie, the lowest score will be added as a tiebreak. Even if it is still square, the highest score will be added as a tiebreak. Even if it is still a deadlock, the relevant contestants must engage in an additional extra match with a different Kata.

Individual Kumite (all age groups)

Jiyu Kumite (Free ) Every match is 2 minutes with the One Point System (Ippon Shobu). * JKA official glove and chest protector are required. * Mouthpiece is required.

4. Regulations a) Limited number of contestants The number of contestants from each country is limited as follows : ・Individual Kata and Kumite: 4 boys, 4 girls for each category ・No change of contestants after the registration is admitted

3 b) Definition of age The age of contestants for each division is considered as of the date of the tournament, 3 June 2012. d) Disqualification Any contestant who is required to stop or withdraw from the game by the officially appointed tournament doctor will be disqualified and unable to continue. e) Preparation of protection gear Each contestant should bring one’s own protection gear : glove, mouthpiece and chest protector. Glove should be JKA approved.

Any contestant who wares contact lenses should bring one’s own spare lenses, and required to re-attach the spare lenses within 2 minuets in the event of the lenses come off during the match. f) One-country-one-delegation Even if more than one organization exists in one country, they must discuss with each other to comply with the regulation, which limits each country to one delegation. g) Other matters 1) Every participating country should complete the payment for the JKA/EUROPE membership fee prior to the championship tournament.

2) Officially appointed tournament doctors and staff will be present and administer first aid. The doctors hold the decision-making authority to decide if any injured contestant can continue the game or should withdraw from the game.

3) Each contestant must carry certain health insurance and is responsible for his/her own healthcare beyond that which is available by the tournament doctors.

4) Each country must prepare its national flag for the opening ceremony. The size should be 180cm x 120cm.

4 5. Consent Form Every contestant must submit the Consent Form (attached) with one’s own signature prior to the tournament. Nonfulfillment of this procedure will cause the disqualification of the contestant from participation in the tournament.

The manager of each country is responsible for submitting the forms of all participants from one’s own country prior to the tournament.

6. Registration Please complete the registration and the payment.
