When water is re-boiled, or stands for a while, it loses oxygen which prevents the full flavor of the tea being released. Warm the pot first. This helps the brewing process by maintaining the brewing temperature for longer so to extract more flavor from the tea. Be sure to use boiling water to make the tea. Water which is "off the boil" does not allow the tea to brew properly. Ideal brewing temperature is 100° C/212° F. Minimum brewing temperature is 90° C/194° F. Brew for 3-5 minutes. Shorter times will not reveal the full flavor and the quality of the tea. Longer brewing will result in a bitter tasting tea as Tannin will start to be extracted from the tea leaves (If you brew in a cup brew for a much shorter time, 1 - 2 minutes). Stir the tea in the pot once or twice while it is brewing. Iced tea brewing method (Pitcher): (to make 1 liter/quart): Place 6 slightly heaping teaspoons of loose tea, 6 tea bags into a teapot or heat resistant pitcher. Using filtered or freshly drawn cold water, boil and pour 1.25 cups/315ml over the tea.

Country Report for the Preparation of the First Report on the State of the World’s Animal Genetic Resources Report on Domestic Animal Genetic Resources in China June 2003 Beijing CONTENTS Executive Summary Biological diversity is the basis for the existence and development of human society and has aroused the increasing great attention of international society. In June 1992, more than 150 countries including China had jointly signed the "Pact of Biological Diversity". Domestic animal genetic resources are an important component of biological diversity, precious resources formed through long-term evolution, and also the closest and most direct part of relation with human beings. Therefore, in order to realize a sustainable, stable and high-efficient animal production, it is of great significance to meet even higher demand for animal and poultry product varieties and quality by human society, strengthen conservation, and effective, rational and sustainable utilization of animal and poultry genetic resources. The "Report on Domestic Animal Genetic Resources in China" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report") was compiled in accordance with the requirements of the "World Status of Animal Genetic Resource " compiled by the FAO. The Ministry of Agriculture" (MOA) has attached great importance to the compilation of the Report, organized nearly 20 experts from administrative, technical extension, research institutes and universities to participate in the compilation team. In 1999, the first meeting of the compilation staff members had been held in the National Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Service, discussed on the compilation outline and division of labor in the Report compilation, and smoothly fulfilled the tasks to each of the compilers.

Although mango is an economically important fruit tree, its genetic resources are still undocumented and are threatened in their natural habits. In this study, the variability of 452 mango accessions from three regions in China (Nujiang, Lancang river and Honghe) was assessed using 41 descriptors including qualitative and quantitative traits, with the aim to identify mango accessions with excellent agronomic and quality traits. To this end, descriptive and multivariate analyses were performed. Based on Shannon–Weaver diversity index, qualitative traits including pericarp color, fruit aroma, flesh color, and fruit flavor recorded the highest variability in the germplasm. Fruit related traits including pulp weight, peel weight, and fruit weight were the most diverse traits in the germplasm with a high coefficient of variation (CV > 40%). Significant differences (MANOVA test, p < 0.000) were observed among the three regions for most of the quantitative traits.

Severe soil erosion may occur 15 under heavy rainfall conditions. Therefore, predicting soil and water loss on highway slopes is 16 important in protecting infrastructure and human life. This work studies Xinhe Expressway, which 17 is in the southern edge of Yunnan–Guizhou Plateau, as the research area. The revised universal 18 soil loss equation is selected as the prediction model of the soil and water loss on the slopes. 19 Moreover, geographic information system, remote sensing technology, field survey, runoff plot 20 observation testing, cluster analysis, and cokriging are adopted. The partition of the prediction 21 units of the soil and water loss on the expressway slope in the mountain area and the spatial 22 distribution model of the linear highway rainfall are studied. In view of the particularity of the 23 expressway slope in the mountain area, the model parameter factor is modified and the risk of soil 24 and water loss along the mountain expressway is simulated and predicted under 20- and 1-year 25 rainfall return periods.
