Welcome Across Victoria, seniors make our state kinder, wiser, and more compassionate. The Victorian Seniors Festival is our chance to celebrate those contributions. DANIEL ANDREWS MP This year’s theme is Get Social – and we PREMIER OF VICTORIA encourage you to do exactly that. This October, you can get involved in more than 2,500 events across theatre, music, film and literature. That isn’t all. The festival will also feature open days at neighbourhood houses and men’s sheds, lunches and morning teas, tours, fitness programs, and social sports. To help you get there, we’ll provide all Victorian MARTIN FOLEY MP MINISTER FOR HOUSING, Seniors Card holders with eight days of free DISABILITY AND AGEING public transport between the 7th and 14th of October – including eight days of free V/Line travel. Despite his civil aviation background, it’s his community work that really gives Alan wings. For 40 years, he has been a member of Kiwanis – an international volunteer organisation that looks after the needs of young people and children. He’s served as both President and Secretary of his branch. ‘We do practical things, like building ramps to make life easier for people. We helped build the Kevin Heinze Garden Centre now called ‘Grow’ for young adults with special needs and did Inquisitor. a lot at the Belmore School for children with special needs,’ says Alan.
