WILLIAMS, Gerald D. “Red”, 68, of Centerville, Ohio, died Saturday, February 28, 2009, in Martins Ferry Hospital. He was born August 10, 1940 in Powhatan Point, a son of the late Delmas and Hazel Messenger Williams. Red was a retired coal miner from North American Coal’s No. 6 mine; a Chris tian by faith, a member of Weyer Lodge 541 F&AM in Centerville, and was Centerville’s small engine repairman for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Williams in 1986. Surviving are his loving I wife of 48 years, Linda I Williams; three sons, Jerry (Rhonda) Williams of Piedmont, Ohio, Jeff Williams of Centerville, and Steve (Lisa) Williams of Uniontown, Ohio; a daugh ter, Crystal (George) Monroe of Centerville; two sisters, Mildred Britton, and Donna Palmer; four broth ers, Bob Messenger, Richard Williams, Joe Williams, and Charles Williams; 11 grandchildren,. Nichole, Desiree, Justen, and Meggan Williams, Rachel and Samantha Williams, Steven and Cody Williams, George, Jennie, Dusten Monroe; live great- grand children; many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. where services will be held on Wednesday at I p.m. with Rev. Don Cordery offi ciating. Burial follows in Powhatan Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Centerville Volunteer Fire Department.
