WILLIAMS, Gerald D. “Red”, 68, of Centerville, Ohio, died Saturday, February 28, 2009, in Martins Ferry Hospital. He was born August 10, 1940 in Powhatan Point, a son of the late Delmas and Hazel Messenger Williams. Red was a retired coal miner from North American Coal’s No. 6 mine; a Chris tian by faith, a member of Weyer Lodge 541 F&AM in Centerville, and was Centerville’s small engine repairman for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Williams in 1986. Surviving are his loving I wife of 48 years, Linda I Williams; three sons, Jerry (Rhonda) Williams of Piedmont, Ohio, Jeff Williams of Centerville, and Steve (Lisa) Williams of Uniontown, Ohio; a daugh ter, Crystal (George) Monroe of Centerville; two sisters, Mildred Britton, and Donna Palmer; four broth ers, Bob Messenger, Richard Williams, Joe Williams, and Charles Williams; 11 grandchildren,. Nichole, Desiree, Justen, and Meggan Williams, Rachel and Samantha Williams, Steven and Cody Williams, George, Jennie, Dusten Monroe; live great- grand children; many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. where services will be held on Wednesday at I p.m. with Rev. Don Cordery offi ciating. Burial follows in Powhatan Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Centerville Volunteer Fire Department. She was preceded in death by her husband. Chester A.; a daughter, Geraldine “Susie” Williams; her parents, O.G. “Pete” and Estella Gertrude Givens Barton. Surviving are a son, Richard at home; a broth er, Ohlen Barton of Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Friends received 7-9 p.m. today at Hcslop Funeral Home, Wal nut and Fifth streets, Martins Ferry, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday. She was a Protestant. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Priscilla McFeley Anastasia; her parents, C.R. and Lena Wilson Lehew. Surviving are a daughter, Delores Edwards of Pierson, Fla.; a brother, Russell Lehew of Paden City; two sisters, Madge Moore of Bellaire and Mildred Lehew of .Tampa, Fla.; nine grandchildren; 17 |great-grandchildren; a great-great- grandson. He was born May 24, 1933, son of Paul and Katherine Williams. He was a self-employed ac countant and an army veteran. Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Sarah Williams of St. Clairsville; two sons, George Gregory and James Paul, both at home; a sister, Mrs. John (Mary) Banco of Wheeling; two brothers, Frederick P. of Cincinnati and Laurence P. of Wheeling. Friends were received at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Wheeling, where services were held. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling. Burial follows in Riverview Ceme tery, Martins Ferry. Gladys Williams Gladys Isabelle Williams, 59, 146 N. Sugar St., St. Clairsville, died Wednesday. Bom Oct. 17, 1915, at Sagamore, Pa., she was a daughter of Morgan and Margaret Reid Williams. A Presbyterian by faith, she had formerly lived at Blair- sville, Pa., but had resided at St. Clairsville for the past 17 years. She was a member of the Blairsville Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are three sisters, Miss Jessie Williams, with whom she made her home, Mrs. Richard (Margaret) Graham of St. Claisville and Mrs. Roy (Anne) Fee of Indiana, Pa.; one brother, Morgan Williams of St. Clairsville. Services were Friday at the Beck Funeral Chapel, St. Clairsville, with the Rev. Cecil Thornton officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery, St. Clair sville. Goldie Williams Goldie E. Williams, 80, of Provident Road, St. Clairsville, died Monday, May 24, at Wheeling Medical Park Hospi tal. She was bom June 5,1901 in Belmont County, a daughter of the late Tom and Bessie Hockner Abel. / y She was a Methodist by faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Williams; two sons, Robert and Harry and one daughter, Olive Poor. Surviving are‘four daughters, Helen Williams of the home, Leona Lyczak of Fairpoint, Hazel DeQuine and Lorena Heskett, both of St. Clairsville; one brother, George of Cambridge; 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Godfrey Williams Godfrey Mitchell Williams, 77, of Scott Depot, W.Va., formerly of Maynard, died Thursday at home. A charter member of the Teays Valley Nazarene Church of Scott Depot, he was a retired employee of Union Carbide Corp. Surviving are a daughter, Shirley J. Dickens of Charleston, W.Va.; a sister, Esther Shrieve of Maynard; five grandchildren. She was bom in St Clairsville, June 7, 1919, a daughter of the late Bert and Viola Tanley Gilham. She was a retired nurses aide and a member of the Flushing Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; one son, Charles Kenneth; two brothers, Harold and Clyde Gilham; one sister, Ethel Nichols. Surviving are two sons, Daniel and Dennis, both of Flushing; one daugh ter, Frances Shinn-of San Lorenzo, Calif.; one brother, Clarence Gilham of Uniontown; one sister, Gertrude VanCuren of Flushing; four grand children; four great-grandchildren. I WILLIAMS, Harold Cecil “Tennessee,” 83, of Weirton, WV, passed away Friday May 25, 2012 at Acuity Hospital, Steubenville, OH. SJ-U*f He was born July 16, 1928 in Athens, TN. The son of the late John F. and Kathleen Hicks Williams. On October 25, 1957, in Weirton, WV, he married Phyllis Jeanette Wright. He was a member of the Weirton Heights Church of Christ, a U.S. Army, Kore an War veteran and recipi ent of the Purple Heart medal, an active member of American Legion Post No. 10 funeral honor guard, lifetime member of VFW Post No. 2716, Weirton Steel 25 year club. He retired in 1990 with 42 years of service in the tin mill as a mechanic on the continuous anneal I line, of Weirton Steel. He also was a faithful employ- ' ee of Steel & Wolfe Funer al Home, Inc. for 38 years. His passions were his fam ily, country, and his “grand” dogs. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Phyllis Jeanette Wright Williams, daughter; Patty Cutone (Richard) of Weirton, WV, son; Jim Williams (Jody) of St. Clairsvillg, OH, sis ters; JSnS Glass (Lynn) of Athens, TN, Betty Moore (Don) of Riccville, TN, Kathryn Williams of Athens, TN, brothers; Bruce Williams of Athens, TN, Harry Williams (Macrae) of Athens, TN, Roy Williams (Eula) of Decatur, TN, grandchil dren; Brooke Cutone, Mal lory Souffrant, Alexis Cor ley, Branda, Jillian, and Alexandra Kalis, great- grandson; Larkin Corley.
