In accordance with section 216 of the Life Insurance Act 1995 the list sets out details of unclaimed money of not less than $200.00 which life insurance companies have paid to the Commonwealth Government in respect of the year ended 31 December 2002. This money, together with amounts paid to the Commonwealth Government as unclaimed money in previous years may be claimed by making application to the Life Insurance Company or Friendly Society concerned.     Newsletter for Landcare and Dunecare in Byron Shire http://www.brunswickvalleylandcare.org.au/ September 2019 Completion of National Landcare Grant in Yalla Kool Reserve by Alison Ratcliffe The project which has allowed Brunswick Valley Landcare and the volunteers of Yalla Kool Landcare group to upgraded the walking track through Yalla Kool Reserve in Ocean Shores is now complete. The project has been a great success with 3 community days with 92 attendees, 0.5 ha of regeneration and planting of 420 plants as well as the significant improvement to the walking track. Yalla Kool Reserve was successful in receiving $49,816 through the Australian Governments National Landcare Program Environments Small Grants to improve the condition and function of this suburban reserve in Ocean Shores. Alison Ratcliffe, Landcare Support Officer said “The project has allowed the walking track to be upgraded and formalised. The walking track that winds through the reserve is now accessible in all weathers. It provides a great link between the Ocean Shores shopping centre and Devine’s Hill lookout through a beautiful natural environment”. These photos show the difference from the start of the project in September 2018 to this week.     northsydneynews |nsn summer | 2007 North Sydney given sound bill of health North Sydney Council has been given a sound sustainability rating by asset management consultants Jeff Roorda & Associates. Mr Roorda told Council that its sustainability ratio of .7 was the highest of any council the company had assessed to date. The company was commissioned by council to assess the sustainability of North Sydney’s infrastructure and develop an asset management plan. The ratio assigned to assets was a measure of the average amount council spends on assets divided by the amount that should be spent for optimal maintenance. As well as giving us an overall rating, the plan rates individual asset categories. Regional roads (ratio of 1.28), footpaths (1.09), bus shelters (.85) street signs (.81) and local roads (.79) have acceptable ratings, while seawalls (.65) and drainage (.62) have been identified as priorities and have received additional funding from this year’s infrastructure levy funds (see page 11). Council’s overall financial position was also assessed as sound by Auditors Spencer Steer and Associates. The operating result for the year was a surplus of $7.138 million. General Manager Penny Holloway said she was pleased but not surprised by the good bill of health. “North Sydney is debt free, we operate on a small surplus each year and have $48 million invested. This achievement is particularly impressive when you consider that North Sydney continues to have the lowest average rates in Sydney and a high level of customer satisfaction with our services.” Other key financial results for the 2006/2007 financial year included: • a total amount of $3.194 million worth of unrestricted cash and investments, which is available for day-to-day operations • developer contributions increased substantially compared to the previous financial year • user charges and fees, as well as investment interest, provided additional revenue.

Membership of the Network is open to anyone interested in conserving the Richmond birdwing and other insects of conservation concern. The RBRN encourages liaison between community members, catchment and Landcare groups, and relevant local and state government authorities. The RBRN holds quarterly General Meetings and occasional Regional or Special Meetings. A Newsletter is published 3-4 times annually. Occasional Supplements are published for Workshops. From 1 July 2010, RBRN Members will be invited to transfer their membership to the Richmond Birdwing Conservation Network (RBCN). The conservation activities of RBCN will continue under the “umbrella” of the Wildlife Preservation Society of Queensland. Many fires are still uncontained. In New South Wales blazes have created a fire front that, if put into a straight line, would stretch from Sydney, across the Indian Ocean, and into Afghanistan. These fires have destroyed more than twice the area burned in the Amazon’s rainforests in 2019. The smoke plume is currently about 1.3 billion acres, or half the size of Europe, and is drifting eastwards across the earth polluting the air of neighbouring countries. Through detailed analysis of two prime examples including Parisian Promenade Plantée and New York City High Line, the aim is to investigate and define the best model for the successful delivery of recently proposed Sydney Harbour HighLine. The aim is to establish a theory that adopted urban high lines are drivers behind economic growth, provide countless benefits to the society and work in harmony with the environment and cultural heritage. This dissertation seeks answers to the following questions: Is there a future for the Sydney Harbour HighLine? Will the revitalisation of Lavender Bay railway line become an elevated challenge or an opportunity? This dissertation has been presented in five chapters. The first chapter begins with an exploration of the unsustainable rate of rapid urbanization and its impact on the environment we live in.
