Sermon Building Key Points • The radical hospitality we seek to practice is rooted in the perfect example of Jesus Christ • When we love as Jesus loved, and serve as Jesus served, we extend hospitality even to those we consider difficult or different [ Luke 6:27 ] • Radical hospitality is going beyond the ordinary in the extreme pursuit of loving and serving others • Will we do whatever it takes through our loving actions so that another person can experience the radical hospitality of God’s saving grace? [ John 13:34 ] • How have you experienced the hospitality of Jesus through someone else’s actions? • Bishop Schnase says churches that display radical hospitality are not “just friendly and courteous passively receiving guests warmly. Instead they exhibit a restlessness because they realize so many people do not have a relationship to a faith community.” • Call to action: Take time to see and hear people who serve you this week. Perform a simple or menial task for someone.

Prayer for the Week Dear God, help me to radically welcome those I meet as my brothers and sisters in Christ. Amen.
