    Weightlifting Explanatory Guide About the Explanatory Guides Published in July 2015, the Explanatory Guides offer a detailed introduction to each sport at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, as well as providing information on a variety of other fundamental topics that may be of importance to teams as they continue their planning and preparations. This guide is divided into several sections: • A general introduction to Rio de Janeiro and to the Games; • Sport-specific information on subjects such as the competition format, schedule and venue; rules; training; and qualification criteria; • General information touching on accreditation, ticketing, accommodation, medical services, doping control and transport; • A directory that contains contact details, maps and a daily competition schedule for all sports. All information provided in this Explanatory Guide was correct at the time of publication in July 2015; however, please note that these details may change between this date and the Games.
