The METRO Green Line Extension will provide light-rail service between downtown Minneapolis and the communities of St. Louis Park, Hopkins, Minnetonka and Eden Prairie, passing in close proximity to Edina. The Green Line Extension will provide a one seat connection between southwest metro communities, downtown Minneapolis, the University of Minnesota and St. Paul. The line will connect to the METRO Blue Line, Northstar Commuter Rail and Snelling BRT (2015).
