James Robinson : Justice League: Cry For Justice (Justice League (DC Comics) (paperback)) before purchasing it in order to gage whether or not it would be worth my time, and all praised Justice League: Cry For Justice (Justice League (DC Comics) (paperback)):

Instead of an organic team that builds as Brad Meltzer did in his first 6-issue run of Justice League of America, this team feels like the only reason they came together is because James Robinson really likes the characters. This would be fine if executed well, but it just seems to happen. Hal, Ollie and play off of each other well, but when and Congoriila show up, it gets messy.Prometheus, though, is a stand out. Seeing someone who could be taken as a joke (especially with that costume) be taken so seriously and pose such a threat is what good comics do (again, look what Meltzer did with Dr. Light). And the Prometheus issues provided at the end of this collection are worth the price alone. The art is also fantastic and truly something to be admired. It's just a shame that the hero aspect of the book doesn't shine through so well.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great book, one of my favorite DC stories.By David E Houston III bought the original issues and I was happy to see it in a hardcover and for a great price. It was one of the few times DC really let the villain do some real evil $*** and win.I always hated the ending because it took away a major villain just as he had become major but it is still a great book that uses some lesser known characters.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Five StarsBy Kevin RafteryOne of the best stories in JLA.....

Following the deaths in BLACKEST NIGHT of both and Martian – both charter members of the Justice League of America – a new team of heroes arises, determined to stop evil from ever striking. But when the JLA’s foe Prometheus plans his revenge on the heroes, will this new team be ready to pay the cost for the justice they seek? Collects issues 1-7.
