The meeting will take place at the dependencies of “Escuela Nacional de Sanidad”, that is inside the “Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII)” (pavilions 7 and 8). Please, take a look to “03 - Meeting venue.jpg” to see the situation of the “Escuela” and of the entrances to the ISCIII. There are 3 possible entrances (Monforte de Lemos 5 - Melchor Fernández Almagro 3 and Sinesio Delgado 10), once inside the ISCIII you have to go to the pavilion number 7. Here you can find a list of the hotels near the ISCIII, but it could be a better idea to hire the rooms closer to the city center and come to the meeting place by public transportation: 1.- Eurostars Madrid Tower ***** Paseo de la Castellana, 261 28046 Madrid Teléfono: +34 91 334 27 00 Fax: +34 91 334 27 01 Metro: Begoña 2.- Husa Chamartín **** C/ Agustín de Foxá, s/n 28036 Madrid Teléfono: +34 91 334 49 00 Fax: +34 91 733 02 14 Metro: Chamartín 3.- Foxá 25 **** C/ Agustín de Foxá, 25 28036 Madrid Teléfono: +34 91 323 11 19 Fax: +34 91 314 53 11 Metro: Chamartín 4.- Foxá 32 **** C/ Agustín de Foxá, 32 28036 Madrid Teléfono: +34 91 733 10 60 Fax: +34 91 314 11 65 Metro: Chamartín 5.- Abba Castilla Plaza Hotel **** Paseo de la Castellana, 220 28046 Madrid Teléfono: +34 91 567 43 00 Fax: +34 91 315 54 06 Metro: Plaza de Castilla 6.- Hotel Silken Puerta Castilla Madrid **** Paseo de la Castellana, 191 28046 Madrid Teléfono: +34 91 453 19 00 Fax: +34 91 453 19 05 Metro: Plaza de Castilla 7.- Hotel AITANA **** Paseo de la Castellana, 152 Tel. 91 344 00 68 Fax: 91 457 07 81 e-mail: [email protected] Metro: Santiago Bernabéu /Cuzco 8.- Hotel TRYP CENTRO NORTE *** Mauricio Ravel, 10 Tel. 91 733 34 00 Fax: 91 314 60 47 e-mail: [email protected] Metro: Plaza Castilla 9.- HOTEL NH Eurobuilding **** Padre Damián, 23 Tel. 91 345 45 00 Fax: 91 345 45 76 Metro: Cuzco 10.- Mirasierra Suites Hotel **** Alfredo Marqueríe, 43 Tel. 91 7277900 e-mail:[email protected] http://wwwjubanhoteles.com Metro: Herrera Oria There are several possibilities to reach the ISCIII: - By taxi: You can go to a taxi stop, ask in your hotel to call for one or, stop one as they pass by any street (available taxis are indicated by a green light in its top). A travel from the city center to the ISCIII could cost 20€ approximately. - By subway – “metro”: The “metro” works very well in Madrid, but you’ll need to walk a little bit to reach the meeting venue (or combine metro and bus). The closest metro stations are Chamartín (L10) 600 m, Begoña (L8) 700m and Plaza de Castilla (L1, L9, L10) . You can find them also in “00 - Hotels situation.jpg” map, indicated with this symbol: , and in “02 – Metro stations.jpg”. Please, visit http://www.metromadrid.es/en/index.html (in English) for detailed information and to plan your travels. A single ticket costs 1.5€ and allows you to move almost along the whole network (inside ‘A’ zone, that covers the entire city), changing line as many times as needed. There is also the “metrobus”, a 10 travels ticket for 12.20 €. You can buy it at any metro station and it can also be used to travel by bus. Metro service starts at 6 a.m. and ends at 1:30 a.m. - By bus: there are several lines that stop near the ISCIII (67, 124, 134, 135 and 147 “03 - Meeting venue.jpg” ). Travel cost is 1.5€ per journey and per line (if you change of bus you have to pay again). You can buy the ticket directly to the driver; you can also use the “metrobus” (that can only be bought at the metro stations). Please, visit the EMT (The Municipal Transport Company) web (in English) for more information: http://www.emtmadrid.es/index.html?lang=eng. - By metro and bus: a good combination is the metro to “Plaza de Castilla” (L1, L9, L10) go outside and there take the bus (take a look at image “04 - Bus Stops – Plaza Castilla.jpg” to see where situated the bus stops in “Plaza Castilla” – please, take into account that the image is a bit old, because remodelling works took place there, but the situation of the stops remains the same). From the airport: The “Barajas” airport has two different sites, linked by a free bus. You will arrive to one (Terminals 1,2 and 3), or to the other (Terminal 4), depending on your air company (Terminal 4 is used mainly by Iberia and its associates). Please, visit http://www.aena.es/csee/Satellite?MO=0&SMO=- 1&SiteName=MAD&c=Page&cid=1049727006353&pagename=Estandar%2FPage%2FAeropuerto for more information (language can be changed to English near the upper right corner “Elija idioma”) You can travel from the airport to the city center by taxi or by metro. - By taxi: The official taxis in Madrid are white with a red strip in its door. In both airport sites you will find a taxi stop outside the building clearly marked (ignore any drivers who offer their services unsolicited inside the terminals). The prize to the city center is 30€ (now it is fixed fee). - By metro: Both sites have its own metro station (“Aeropuerto T1, T2, T3”, and “Aeropuerto T4”, respectively). The cost is 1€ of the normal ticket (you can use also the “metrobus”) plus a supplement of 1€; you can buy a combined ticket (single + supplement airport) for 2€, or charge you “metrobus” with the additional 1€ at the automatic machines in the metro stations. Madrid: You can visit http://www.esmadrid.com/en/portal.do (in English, and other languages) for tourist information about the city. .
