What is the Cristo Rey Network? 2015-2016 SNAPSHOT As the largest network of high schools in the United States whose 30 Cristo Rey schools enrollment is limited to low-income youth, the Cristo Rey Network’s distinctive approach to education equips students with the knowledge and 9,800 students projected: skills to transform their lives through rigorous academics, four years of work 96% of color,$34,000 experience, and support to and through college. The national network of average family income 30 Catholic, college preparatory schools is growing at a time when many 9,800 alumni traditional schools are struggling to produce excellent results. Graduates $47mm earned by students of Cristo Rey schools are enrolling in and completing college at twice the rate of low-income high school graduates. 2,000 corporate partners 46 university partners: Why is Cristo Rey different? Boston College, DePaul, Cristo Rey Network schools operate as both a school and a temporary Georgetown, Holy Cross, employment agency. All students work one full day each week in a real, Loyola, Southern Illinois entry-level job through the Corporate Work Study Program to earn a University, University of San Francisco and majority of their own education. More than 2,000 Corporate Partners Wesleyan University employ a team of students who share one job and provide coverage Monday through Friday from 9:00AM to 5:00PM during the school-year. GROWTH PLAN Cristo Rey’s 2,000 corporate partners include household names such as 14,000 students by 2020 Abbott, American Express, AT&T, Baxter, Citigroup, Credit Suisse, Deloitte, Eli Lilly, Expeditors International, ING, J.P. Morgan, MetLife, Morgan Stanley, Nike, pwc, Skadden Arps, and United Health Group. The Corporate Work Study Program not only builds competence, confidence, and aspiration in Cristo Rey students, it also responds to workforce development challenges most companies face by developing candidates with the social and technical skills to perform the jobs of the Existing Schools future.
