XM PUBLIC RADIO TO AIR EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH YUSUF (CAT STEVENS) ON SEPTEMBER 30

PROGRAM FEATURES INTERVIEW WITH SINGER/SONGWRITER TAPED IN WASHINGTON, D.C. IN MAY 2004 PRIOR TO RECENT DEPORTATION

Washington D.C., September 29, 2004 -- XM Satellite Radio, the nation's leading provider of satellite radio with more than 2.1 million subscribers, will air a recent, never-before-heard interview with Yusuf Islam, the singer/songwriter formerly known as Cat Stevens, this Thursday, September 30, at 8:00 am ET on XM Public Radio (XM Channel 133).

Islam was barred from entering the United States on September 21 after the Department of Homeland Security diverted a -to-Washington, D.C. flight carrying the musician. According to the Associated Press, government officials said Islam had been placed on a no-fly list because of national security concerns.

The 30-minute special on XM Public Radio (XMPR) will include an interview with Islam by XM on-air host George Taylor Morris taped at the XM studios in Washington, D.C., on May 20, 2004.

Encore broadcasts of the interview will air on XMPR Thursday at 8:30am, 8:00pm and 8:30 pm ET. The program will also air Thursday on the rock channel (XM Channel 40) at 8:00 am and 8:00 pm ET.
